Your “claim to fame” – aka why you were part of Glamour’s 20 Amazing Young Women!:
I am one of the three co-founders of Her Campus Media (www.hercampus.com) along with Annie Wang and Stephanie Kaplan. I currently serve as the Publisher and President.

What are you doing to change the world?
Providing a career launching point for America’s top student journalists and (hopefully) revolutionizing the way that companies market themselves to college students.

What was your inspiration for this?
As a college student I saw many of my peers going into jobs that they weren’t excited about because what they really loved doing – writing – was too difficult a career path to pursue.

What is a quotation or message that drives you?
Do one thing every day that scares you. I know it’s clichéd but it keeps me from becoming stagnant.

What has been your proudest accomplishment so far?
Being named to Inc. Magazine’s 30 under 30 Coolest Young Entrepreneurs list.

What would you say was the “coolest” moment in your life thus far?
Being recognized at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards (not kidding!)

What is a challenge you’ve faced while trying to achieve your goals?
I never, ever have enough time to accomplish everything that I want to accomplish. I want more hours in the day!

If someone gave you a million dollars to benefit your cause (or your research, your company, etc.) what would you use it for?
I would expand our offices—we really need a fashion closet and a photo studio! :)

In 10 years I hope…
to be able to continue to watch Her Campus flourish, to be married to a man that I love, and to have two children.

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?
I would be opening a boutique!

What 3 adjectives would people use to describe you?
Bubbly, enthusiastic, driven.

What is your biggest weakness?
Shoes.

Who is your hero and why?
Cathie Black – she is an incredibly inspirational industry icon.

Who is your biggest cheerleader, supporting you every step of the way?
Cathy Cronin Cranston – she is on our Board of Advisors and has been cheering for us and encouraging us from the start.  She is currently the Publisher of the Columbia Journalism Review.

Describe your idea of a perfect day.
Wake up with the sun in my face. Extra hot latte with a fresh fruit salad. Go to work and close 3+ deals with big clients. Get a mani/pedi and a massage. Sushi dinner with my boyfriend. Wine with my best friends. Raspberry chocolate mousse and a cup of tea.

What do you like to do outside of your work?
I like to run, lift weights, go to church, try out new restaurants, cook, talk to my little sisters (I have 3!), and shop!

Which of this year’s Glamour WOTY award winners would you most like to meet and why?
Julia Roberts – that woman is pure genius.

What was your favorite part of Glamour’s WOTY Awards?
My seat! I had a phenomenal view of the stage.

What did you wear to Glamour’s WOTY Awards?
I wore a killer Elizabeth and James dress from The Tannery in Harvard Square with a gold bow necklace, a black studded Lauren Merkin clutch, and black studded platform pumps.

Who did you bring as your guest to Glamour’s WOTY Awards?
I brought my little sister Kelsey – she’s 20 and was SO excited when she got to sit in the front row!

Who do you think should win a Glamour WOTY Award next year?
Cathie Black. As I said before, I think she’s phenomenal.

What is your favorite thing about Glamour magazine?
That they do the WOTY awards every year! The event is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced.

What does “glamour” mean to you?
Self-confidence, poise, and the perfect lipstick.

How does it feel to be honored as one of Glamour Magazine’s 20 young women who are already changing the world?
I was stunned when I found out that I was selected – it is an absolutely incredible honor that I will always be thankful for.

What advice would you give to our college women readers?
Don’t ever take the “safe” and boring path. The adventurous path will always lead to a better (or at least more interesting!) future in the long run.
