Note: Before applying any eyeshadow, always use a primer! Try Urban Decay Primer Potion, your shadow will stick to your skin easily and the colors will appear brighter.
How to make Blue Eyes Pop:
Calling all blue-eyed girls, from those with baby blues to dark blue hues, I’ve got you covered with some tips for making your blue eyes pop! For blue eyes, there are a variety of looks that will make your eyes appear sparkly and fresh.
Celebrity Representatives: Megan Fox, Reese Witherspoon, and Christina Aguilera
- Look #1: Use Blue – Navy, royal, aqua, baby blue, gray/silver blue
- Products: Loreal’s HiP eye shadow in Magnetic, Showy or Roaring, all of which can be used as a shadow or a liner
Believe it or not, using any shade of blue, whether it is navy or baby blue, will bring out the blue in your eyes. You can use this color as a liner or a shadow, but only if it’s done right! When using blue, it is usually best to use sparingly, but in the right places.
Try using a blue shadow as an accent to your eyeliner. Start by using a brown pencil liner and trace your upper lash line. Dip an angled brush into your blue shadow and use the brush to retrace the brown liner to add color and dimension to your look. Apply it to the top and bottom lash line, or just the top or just the bottom. This will bring out the blue in your eyes, but won’t appear overbearing. Try navy for a toned down look or royal blue to spice things up!

When using blue shadow, instead of slapping bright blue shadow across your whole lid, you may instead use navy and apply it sparingly in a v-shape on the outer corner of your eyelid to create a smoky look. Finish the look by blending the navy with a dark gray shadow. Blend the color out by retracing your v-shape with a fluffy brush that has been dipped in gray shadow. By mixing the blue with the gray, you are creating a more natural look.

Think bronze is only for summer? Think again! All you ladies with blue eyes can benefit from using colors in the metallic family, like copper, gold and of course, bronze!
The great thing about getting a shadow quad in metallic colors is you have the option of going natural or glam, depending on the type of look you are going for. Use the gold or light brown and sweep the color over your whole lid for an easy, natural look, or play with all four colors to create a smokey look.

For a smokey look, you are going to end up using all of the colors in your palette to get the job done. Start with a gold shadow base and sweep the color over your entire lid; Focus the darker colors like chocolate or bronze on the outer portion of your eyelid. Blend the colors together by using U-shape motions with a fluffy brush from the outer corner of your eye to the middle top part of your crease. Wrap up the look by adding a copper or brown liner and finish off with mascara.

Wondering why you should use colors in the orange family? Simple: blue and orange are complimentary colors! Sweep a light apricot or peach color over your lid for a natural look or dig into some brighter oranges and pinks to really give your eyes a boost! Always finish with a liner and mascara as well as a light shadow like pale pink or white under the brow and down toward the inner corner of your eye.
Check out burnt orange, copper, salmon and rust shadows for a sultry evening look. Pair the aforementioned with chocolate browns and gold for the ultimate smokey eye. The result? A warm, glowing look that is sure to attract some serious attention!
