Would you like some lip gloss with that book?

I’m a girl’s girl and I love makeup and clothes, but I also love reading, and it’s great when you can somehow combine the two. Although that doesn’t happen all too often, Three Custom Color Specialists — experts in custom blended cosmetics—has found a way of doing just that.

The cosmetics company has partnered with New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak to release a custom lip gloss that will share the same name and release date as Novak’s new romantic thriller, “White Heat.” Since I love you all so much, I tested out both for you! Let’s start with the makeup, darlings.

White Heat Lip Gloss: The sheer and sexy hot pink lip gloss has a silver-white and opalescent shimmer and comes in an adorable swing-out lip gloss pot, perfect for applying with your fingers or a lip brush. But the gloss doesn’t only look good; it’s long-lasting and lends your lips the perfect shimmer for a day of shopping or a night out with the girls.

White Heat Lip Gloss ($21.50) can be purchased online starting July 27—the same day Novak’s “White Heat” will be released—and the first 50 customers to purchase the gloss online will receive a free autographed copy of “White Heat.”

After trying White Heat lip gloss, I’ll tell you that it’s definitely worth your money and comes in the perfect flirty shade.

White Heat, the book: Now for white heat of a different sort. I’m about halfway through an advanced copy of Novak’s book “White Heat” and I can’t put it down! Sexy and suspenseful, the book follows private security company operatives Rachel Jessop and Nate Ferrentino in their quest to infiltrate a dangerous cult, the Church of the Covenant. Extremely gripping, it’s the perfect read for a sunny day outside.

“White Heat” is the first of three new summer releases from Novak and the series promises to keep you on the edge of your beach chair.
