If you have a Facebook, a Twitter, or a television, then you’ve probably already heard about Mitt Romney’s “Binder Full of Women” comments from last night’s debate. And, if you’re like me, you’re already brainstorming on how to turn this into a clever Halloween costume!
First of all, you’re going to need to make the binder. Get a large, rectangle piece of cardboard, or a few pieces of poster board. Glue or tape them together, then fold them around your body. The idea is to have it look like you are actually inside the binder! Add some straps to sling over your shoulders so you can hold it up. Don’t forget to decorate it! Paint it pink, use glitter glue, add flowers… Whatever you can think to make it excessively girly. Don’t forget to slap a huge label on it that says “Women!”
Underneath the binder, you can wear whatever you want! Dress as a politician in a suit, get a little naughty with the idea of a “bound” woman (think rope around your wrists!), or just dress super girly in a pink skirt. Remember: the more ridiculous you are, the better you’ll reflect Mitt’s original comment!
This is super easy to turn into a group costume, too. See how many of your friends you can squeeze into your binder costume, or double date with fired Big Bird!
