Always dreamed of starting your own magazine?

APPLY TO BE A CAMPUS CORRESPONDENT AND START A BRANCH AT YOUR SCHOOL!

What’s a Campus Correspondent?

Campus Correspondents launch and lead their college’s “My Campus” branch on HerCampus.com. Campus Correspondents are in charge of producing college-specific content for HerCampus.com as well as publicizing on their campus, by growing a team at their school, essentially running their own magazine on campus.  Campus Correspondents also take part in our national projects and promotions.  For this year, these will include content partnerships with Seventeen and The Huffington Post, and working with leading beauty brands.  This is an unpaid position.

Since joining the Her Campus Team, our writers have been offered jobs and internships with the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Intern Program and at Seventeen, Glamour, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, InStyle, Harper's Bazaar, Hearst Digital Media Teen Network (Seventeen.com, CosmoGirl.com, DonateMyDress.org), O magazine, Reader's Digest, Details magazine, Us magazine, and Star magazine, among others.

What’s a “My Campus” branch?

A “My Campus” branch is an area on HerCampus.com devoted to your school, with the following elements: News, Campus Celebrities, Events, Polls, Campus Cuties—so that readers from your school can have an individualized experience on HerCampus.com.

What are the responsibilities of Campus Correspondents?

  • Editorial: Create new content and upload it to the site on a weekly basis (no web experience required).
  • Publicity: Publicize HerCampus.com and your “My Campus” branch on your campus.
  • Team: Build a staff at your school to work under you to grow your branch!
  • Campus Correspondents can apply individually or with a partner- either way you will then grow a team at your school!

Cool! How do I apply?

Please send ONE email to Stephanie@hercampus.com with the following included.  If applying with a partner, both people must send a resume and writing clip.

  • Your resume
  • A brief statement of interest
  • One journalism writing sample
  • Three ideas for how you will publicize on your campus

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role on a national platform, and to be a part of a growing new start-up that hopes to change the way we think about and consume media!
