While reading a friend’s blog, I came across this awesome DIY project. To put it simply, these shoes are AMAZING. Not only are they adorable, but extremely affordable too. Although they are a bit time consuming, these shoes are totally worth it and can spice up your wardrobe! Try this Tuesday How-to at your place today!
What you’ll need:
-A pair of white shoes
(If you have an old pair of white Keds, they will work perfectly! If you don’t & still want to make these shoes, Target carries a pair of plain white shoes for about $13!)

-Brass fasteners
-Gold chain: You’ll need about 10 “chains” that are around 2-3 inches each
– Wire cutter: To cut the chain
– Gold spray paint
– Gold glitter spray paint
– Gold multipurpose permanent Sharpie
STEP ONE:
Wash the shoes. If you’re using an old pair of shoes, put them in a bucket with soap and water & scrub away. The spray paint has a difficult time sticking to dirt. If your shoes are brand new, skip to Step 3.
STEP TWO:
Let shoes dry.
STEP THREE:
Stuff shoes with newspaper and spray them with gold spray paint.
STEP FOUR:
Spray glitter coat on top of regular paint.
STEP FIVE (OPTIONAL):
You can either color the rubber soles with the gold Sharpie, or leave them white. Just remember, if you’re leaving them white… put tape around them so spray paint doesn’t get on them!
STEP SIX:
Attach the fasteners through the gold chain and fasten on each end.
There you have it– a super easy way to recycle your old shoes into brand new ones! Don’t be afraid to get creative. You can always keep the shoe lace or use different color spray paint, etc.
