Justin Jackson (’13)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

How ‘bout them Deacs? What a perfect way to celebrate this year’s homecoming by getting to know this senior football star! Do you think you will be able to spot this cutie on the field this weekend?

Name: Arthur Justin Jackson
Year: Senior/Red-Shirt Junior
Major/Minor: Communications/Dance
Hometown: Hamlet, North Carolina
Relationship Status: It’s Complicated

Her Campus (HC): Are you involved in any activities on campus?
Justin Jackson (JJ): Just football, it takes up a lot of time.

HC: What position do you play?
JJ: I play outside linebacker and my jersey number is 39. Everyone should come back and watch the game Saturday and support the team.

HC: Did you play football in high school?
JJ: Yeah, I played fullback and linebacker all four years and got a full ride to Wake for it.

HC: Who was your favorite team growing up?
JJ: The Steelers.

HC: Was Wake your dream school?
JJ: No, I didn’t have a dream school, but I liked that Wake was close to home.

HC: What did you like most about Wake?
JJ: It was a small campus and it has Chick-Fil-A. The Pit was also good when I visited, but I think that was just that one day because it definitely hasn’t been good since.

HC: What’s your favorite thing about being on the football team?
JJ: The free stuff. Like I can get free cleats, gloves, and other small stuff like that every week but I get at least four or five pairs of shoes a year.

HC: Favorite place on campus?
JJ: Benson, because all the cuties walk by.

HC: What has been your favorite thing about this year?
JJ: Social dance, you should see my tango. We have learned that and the waltz; I think I’m a pretty decent dancer. Not the best but not the worst.

HC: Who is your celebrity crush?
JJ: I don’t like Kim Kardashian, she’s really cute but I don’t like her personality. Jessica Alba and Meagan Good are both my type. I would say the girl that’s interviewing me but she’s not a celebrity, yet.

HC: (Laughing) So what’s your dream girl like?
JJ: Smart, really cute, athletic body; she would have long hair…a nice butt, fun personality, shorter than I am, nice teeth, and a great smile.

HC: Any eye color?
JJ: Doesn’t matter.

HC: Favorite first date location?
JJ: Shorty’s, my bedroom is the best second date location. Kidding! I like taking girls to the movies or going bowling. If anybody wants to go to the trampoline park I would do that.

HC: You would never take a girl…
JJ: I would never take a girl to Burger King.

HC: What are your strengths?
JJ: I’m a really good relationship counselor, my stunning good looks, my outgoing personality (I can be shy at times), and I’m athletic.

HC: Can you cook?
JJ: No, but I can learn.

HC: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
JJ: I don’t like when someone doesn’t text me back fast enough. If you text me back consistently slower than what I text you it’s a problem, ‘cause I’m a really slow texter.

HC: What do you do to relax?
JJ: Definitely not running, I’m not a running kind of guy; I go to sleep. Other than that, watch Netflix on my phone.

HC: Do you have a favorite movie?
JJ: Toystory, because I really like Woody and Buzz Lightyear. The first one is the best, you can’t beat the original.

HC: What’s one thing you can’t live without?
JJ: My cell phone. I can’t go anywhere without it ‘cause I do everything with it. Text, call, email, Facebook, WIN stalk, Google random people. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t WIN stalk.

HC: Biggest fear?
JJ: I have a re-occurring dream of losing my teeth that are visible; so losing my teeth. I think I have that dream like once a week. That would be horrible if they just all fell out.

HC: What has been your greatest memory of Wake so far?
JJ: Nothing great happens at Wake, but I had a lot of fun throwing snowballs at people from rooftops my freshman year the first time that it snowed here.

HC: What do you want to do with your future?
JJ: I would like to play for the NFL, any team but definitely in a linebacker position.

HC: Life motto?
JJ: You only live once that’s my motto baby, YOLO.
