The First Lady, Michelle Obama is on the cover of the April 2013 issue of Vogue. This is the second time that Vogue has featured the first lady on the cover since they started publishing the magazine in 1892. In the featured article, Obama reveals that family always comes first.
Photographer, Annie Liebovitz, proudly photographed Ms. Obama for the cover. Liebovitz observed that there was a lot of hugging going on during the shoot, and she told Mr. and Mrs. Obama that they were, “a very different kind of president and First Lady. The cover absolutely stunned readers. A Huffington Post article even stated that the cover “exceeded” their expectations.
Among the Obama family photographs, the article also featured photographs of the First Lady in a Michael Kors ball skirt and sweater. “If you’re comfortable in your clothes, it’s easy to connect with people and make them feel comfortable as well,” said the First Lady.
When asked what she’s learned as the first lady, she responded, “To do more breathing in and just going with it. I’m learning that every day.” Even though the article highlighted the First Lady’s fashion throughout the years, the Obamas definitely made family a common theme throughout the entire article. “There are times when you’re just a scheduler for your kids,” said the First Lady. “And that doesn’t change for us.”
