Three of the Best Drinks to Make This Fall: Tested and Approved (21+)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

This article is for all of my 21+ readers who want to get into the fall spirit by having some festive alcoholic drinks. I did the work for you by researching, critiquing, and now sharing the best fall drinks that I found.

Ranked #1: The Apple Cider Aperol Spritz

This drink was perfect for a fun night in, with a crisp and refreshing taste that’s “giving fall.” At least, that’s exactly what my friend Sam said about it. My friend Maddie described it as, “making the drink of the summer into the drink of the fall.” It’s a super light and delicious drink that you could sip on at a girl’s night. This drink was very easy and fun to make!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Shot Aperol
  • ½ a cup apple cider
  • ½ a cup champagne
  • Caramel around rim
  • Sugar and cinnamon rim
  • Sliced apple on edge for decor

Ranked #2: Apple Martini

This mix-up on the classic martini was delicious and so easy to make. It was yummy, and if you like apple cider, it’s perfect, since it’s very “apple-y.” It tasted as if you were biting into a caramel apple. You could not taste the alcohol at all, so if you hate the taste of alcohol as I do, this drink is perfect for you.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 1 shot caramel vodka
  • Caramel around rim
  • Sugar and cinnamon rim
  • Apple slice for decor

Even Harry approves. ;)

Ranked #3: Apple Cider Sangria

The final drink on this list is another beloved favorite: sangria. This is the perfect drink for a big group of people, since it serves a lot. The sangria was refreshing and tastes like a “crisp fall morning,” and the apple cider bitterness pairs perfectly with the wine. While the pinot grigio is a bit overpowering, it is still very delicious and a good drink to just sip on with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of pinot grigio
  • 3 1/2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup tonic water (club water is better, but I only had tonic water)
  • 1/2 cup ginger brandy
  • 2 chopped up apples

There you have it: the three best fall-themed alcoholic drinks that I tried making. I hope you enjoy them (responsibly) as much as I loved testing them!
