Song for a specific mood- Maanya Vasishtha
Main character moments in life are often happy, cheerful, and exciting. To suit those moments, you would listen to peppy, upbeat, and motivating music. But what about those main character moments where you’re at a crucial point in your life or you have a big decision to make or you’ve made a huge breakthrough or you’re just feeling stagnant and confused. Where you’re neither happy nor sad, just existing and you’re extremely aware of your existence, contemplating your place and purpose in the world. Where you go into these deep thought spirals and you realize you’re thinking out loud exactly in the way the main character in a movie would, through a voice-over, when they’re feeling uncertain in life. What do you listen to then? What would be the perfect song to play in the background while you deal with all of that? The answer is Forever by Labrinth. It’s a stunning instrumental with minimal acapella-esque vocals and the music feels ground-breaking and calm at the same time. It’s the kind of song that keeps building up like it’s gonna lead to something but also stays consistent and brings a sense of relaxation. Basically, it’s one of those tunes that may change and adapt to your mood depending on the situation. So next time you don’t know what to listen to when you’re in an uncertain mood, put on Forever and just vibe with it

Lucky to be Alive-Aditi Warrier Â
You know the feeling you get when you’ve just spent a lazy afternoon at your friend’s house, and now you’re walking home? The roads are kind of empty, the light is soft – not too hot but warm – and there’s a cool breeze blowing. These are the songs you’d be listening to in your earphones. In the background is the bark of the stray dog that lives on your street, or the ringing of a bicycle bell, and everything just feels right. The way that you’re feeling, you could be standing on top of the world. In that moment, every Tumblr quote you’ve ever read seems true – the world’s your oyster, everything you want is within reach, and things will all work out the way they’re meant to. There’s just something about these songs that make you feel like you’re flying. And you’re thinking that today, life’s good – life’s really good.

Mood – driving back to the city with your best friends after a really tiring trek- Arya KulkarniÂ
Songs –Â
- Should have known better – Sufjan StevensÂ
- Cold little heart – Michael KiwanukaÂ
- Landslide – Fleetwood Mac
Picture this – it’s almost 10 a.m. on a Sunday. You went on a wonderful trek with your best friends, and spent the waking hours among the clouds, shivering from the cold and weak from the hard work you put to get up there. You’re driving on the highway, nearing the city, with your friends all contently enjoying the mellow playlist you’ve put on.
The first song that comes on is a quiet country-ish song by Sufjan Stevens called “Should’ve Known Better”. Although it starts off sad, outlining his rough childhood and rocky relationship with his mother, it evokes a hopeful mood rather than melancholy.Â
Another song that builds on this mood is a nine-minute-long masterpiece by Michael Kiwanuka – “Cold Little Heart” – a song that grapples with the feeling of self-doubt and instrumentals that will entrance you as you stare out the window like you’re the main character in an indie film.
This is followed by “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac – a timeless song that tugs at your heartstrings. It is a song about growing up and overcoming tough times and relationships that weirdly makes you feel proud of climbing that hill and getting to where you are today.Â
