The superstar is making headlines with her first upcoming documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me. We’ve gotten a lot of insight into what to expect from her upcoming production, after the release of her official trailer this past week.
Hidden truth of fame
Selena Gomez gets super vulnerable with her fanbase, as the official trailer shows an emotional glimpse into her deeply private life. Over the span of her documentary, there are short clips following Gomez over a six-year period, capturing moments of personal struggle in her rise to fame. At the start of her journey, she was mostly involved with Disney productions, in tv shows and music production. Since then, she has expressed the troubles as an up and coming young artist, and how this added to her feelings of depression and anxiety. Alongside with mental health struggles, she faced various physical health issues, including lupus and undergoing a kidney transplant. Evidently, these physical and mental setbacks became a hardship along her journey, as she struggles to come back to her “true self”. In this new documentary, we are able to see a raw and intimate side of the artist’s life through the lens of Selena Gomez herself. The new documentary, directed by Alex Keshishian, is set to premier on AppleTV+, November 4th.
