The music market nowadays leaves all the doors open for everyone who wants to share their songs with the world. Artists can end up on a gigantic red carpet after delivering a piece on TikTok. We all saw Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa blowing up their careers – for talent, money, or luck. But there are also some highly talented artists who are just expecting to be discovered, and FLETCHER is a perfect example.

Cari Elise Fletcher is an American composer and singer. Her first appearance was as the main character in the movie “How Katie Howard Found Herself”, in 2010. In the following year, she competed in “The X Factor” until the fifth week as a singer of the group Lakoda Rayne. Her debut single, “War Paint”, was delivered in 2015 and now counts more than 230 thousand views on YouTube.

In 2017, FLETCHER returned with the single “You Should Talk” and, one year later, she came back with an entire EP, in a way more professional and mature style. In 2020 the artist delivered her second EP, “The S(ex) Tapes”, where she showed us, in different ways, how it is possible to turn something painful into art. The songs have important messages in a very good voice and a pop sound that mixes genres.

“The S(ex) Tapes”

FLETCHER and Shannon Beveridge, actress from the music video for “Wasted Youth“, dated from the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2020. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, the singer prefers not to label herself. When asked about her sexual orientation, she once said that if someone needed to put her in some “category” she would fit in as a queer person and further stated that she is in a constant state of evolution, but that she is drawn “by a strong feminine energy that happens more than not being women”.

In “The S(ex) Tapes”, FLETCHER brings in the songs the experience of being in a relationship where the person is always breaking up and getting back with someone they really love. The project’s title is related to her ex-girlfriend, with whom she ended up spending the quarantine and was the person responsible for recording all the videos and visuals of the EP.

“Girl Of My Dreams”

Now, in the second semester of 2022, the singer delivered her first album, “Girl Of My Dreams”, much more focused on herself and how important it is to love your own company.

With her charm, soft voice and different kinds of beat, FLETCHER shows that she can fluctuate between many different kinds of styles. Her album is a true taste of pop as we know it today, presented in a sweet, tight melody filled with equal parts, technique and talent.

Songs like “Better version“, “For Cari” and the album’s nominee, “Girl Of My Dreams”, are dedications by FLETCHER to FLETCHER that inspire us to understand that it’s okay to suffer from love, as long as we know that we are solely responsible for getting our lives back on track.

Definitely, FLETCHER is a phenomenon. Not necessarily talking about fame, but a natural strength destined by the masterful voice carried by her. She is here to stay. We must keep an eye out and wait for the news that the singer will bring. Until they arrive, “Girl Of My Dreams” is the perfect request for any mood. Enjoy!
