Harry Styles’ latest music video for “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” dropped on Oct. 27, and it’s clear that the video has been on everyone’s timeline. As if Styles literally turning into a squid-man throughout the entirety of the video wasn’t enough for fans, many have been stuck on one other thing about his appearance: The beard. So, I’m here to answer your burning question… is Styles’ beard real in the “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” music video?
Fans went ballistic when Styles posted an image of himself in the music video to Twitter at midnight on Oct. 27. The reactions are kind of split, but a large majority of people are really drooling over Styles’ new, more laidback look. It’s giving fisherman, but some users on Twitter even said that the new look was “kinda hot, NGL.”
On the flip side, many people have been totally confused by the whole look, pointing out the fact that they never thought they’d see Styles with such a look. Some have gone as far to tell Styles to “put the beard away” and that “there’s not a single lyric in [“Music For A Sushi Restaurant”] where Harry needs to [be] rocking a full beard.” Ouch!
Okay, at first glance, I’m thinking that it’s a hard no when it comes to the question of the beard being real. I mean, we haven’t seen any recent photos of Styles posted online of him sporting the long, unkempt beard. Plus, the mega-artist has been touring as recently as last week when he was seen on stage in Chicago with a clean shaven face ahead of the music video’s release. So I think it’s safe to say that this beard was not actually homegrown from Styles himself.
If the beard really was all-natural, I’d have to guess that the music video was shot a while ago during a dry period of inactivity from Styles. Who knows, maybe we can expect to see this infamous beard reappearing in future projects from Styles — but I guess we’ll just have to wait to see.
