Do you really want to know where I’ll be on April 29th?
Well, if I’m being honest I’ll be at home, streaming Midnights, but on August 3rd I WILL be at Sofi Stadium crying my eyes out at the Eras Tour.
That’s right, I said it. Taylor Swift is going on tour and I am shocked and speechless.Â
Taylor Swift went on Jimmy Fallon’s show and hinted at a potential tour. Then at midnight, in true Taylor fashion, she announced her “Eras” stadium tour.Â
The US leg of the tour originally had 27 dates across the US, but then, 8 shows were added to the agenda, bringing the grand total up to 35.
And Taylor really meant it when she said the ERAS tour. She is going through them all. Everything from her eponymous debut to Midnights is on the table, but how exactly will she cover her 12 albums all within one night? A major fan theory suggests that she will be cycling through the albums, with different setlists at different shows. Taylor has even already hinted at which albums she will be covering through her openers.Â
Her tour poster lists nine different opening acts, each of which is signified with a different emoji to represent them (and potentially a specific album). According to the theory, Owenn represents the debut Taylor Swift with a yellow star, Gayle represents Speak Now with a purple moon, Girl in Red is Red with a red guitar, MUNA signifies 1989 with a blue diamond, Phoebe Bridgers is Reputation with a ghost, beebadoobee represents Lover with a pink heart, Gracie Abrams represents Folklore with a black and white Piano and Paramore is Evermore with a gold leaf.
Now is this all speculation? Absolutely, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s true. Is it really an eras tour if she doesn’t cover all of her eras? I think the best way she can incorporate all of her hits is with medleys. I need to hear an “August”/”Betty”/”Cardigan” mashup, plus one with “Question” and “Out of the Woods.” Also, I will not rest until I hear the “All Too Well” 10-minute version live.
For those trying to get tickets, I will warn you it is going to be a bloodbath. The line for just a presale code took fans hours to get through. My best advice to you is to be early and try to keep on top of ALL of Taylor’s socials, because she often gives opportunities to move up in the queue. Also, if you are a Capital One member, take advantage of the presale. Good luck to all my Swifties out there and may the odds be ever in your favor!
