The Netflix reality series “Love is Blind” season three has come to an end and the tea is hot.
The Netflix show was produced by Chris Coelen, who came up with the idea of designing a new dating social experiment.
The social experiment consists of 30 single men and women who would go on blind dates over the course of 10 days. Within those 10 days, the couples who built strong connections in the pods would have the opportunity to get engaged, sight unseen.
The concept of the show has gained a lot of attention from the first season which aired in February 2020. Since then, the show has been renewed for four more seasons.
In the latest season, we are introduced to a new group of eager single men and women looking for a potential life-long partner.
Season three had a total of five couples that fell in love, sight unseen.
There were two couples from this season, one being more problematic than the other.
Raven and Sikiru aka ‘SK’
My favorite couple of the season, Raven and SK surprised me and several other viewers.
Raven was dating two men in the pods, Bartise and SK, where she formed two very different relationships.
With Bartise, her connection was solely based on interests, whereas with SK, they were able to build a more authentic relationship. Raven, who appeared to be a bit closed off during the blind dating process convinced me that she would not go through with her engagement to her fiance SK.
After being engaged for two months, viewers were able to see the couple engage in deep conversations and build relationships within their friend groups and families.
SK and Raven were the only couple this season that decided to not be physically intimate and instead focused on getting to know each other on a conversation basis.
I loved watching the two of them grow during this season!
Unfortunately, they did not end up marrying each other because the two mutually agreed that their relationship needed more time before saying ‘I do’.
The couple now is still happily together as boyfriend and girlfriend and has been doing very well since the show.
Nancy and Bartise
Now, this couple, in particular, I knew in my heart they would not make it to the end of the show.
Immediately, I just knew the two would not work because of the couple’s age difference.
Bartise was 25 and Nancy was 31 during the filming of the show. This was a huge concern for Nancy because she did not want to be played by someone who was far younger.
Bartise’s lack of maturity because of his young age showed a lot throughout the season with his interactions between both Nancy and Raven, whom he formed connections within the pods.
Bartise was on edge between the two women, where with Nancy he felt comfortable and at ease, but with Raven, he was primarily drawn to the fact that the two had a common interest in fitness and health.
The issue with this dilemma was that Bartise was busy envisioning how fit and attractive Raven would be in person, rather than looking further into her personality. That is a red flag for me.
Luckily, Raven saw right through Bartise’s actions and rejected him in the pods after he made shallow comments on whether they would fit together based on their appearances.
In the end, Bartise does decide to propose to Nancy despite his feelings toward Raven.
Nancy was head over heels for Bartise despite their age differences and was drawn to his outgoing personality and the loving character he portrayed in the pods.
Upon meeting in person, Bartise would mention how it was hard for him to match Nancy’s physical appearance to who he was talking to in the pods. Once all couples were able to meet in person, Bartise’s attention went straight to Raven.
Bartise was in absolute awe of her physical appearance and he tells Nancy about his attraction to Raven. It was an inappropriate conversation to have and could have been handled in a better way to not make Nancy feel uncomfortable.
The following day, the couples attended a pool party, where Bartise approaches Raven in person for the first time. During this conversation, Bartise comments on how hot Raven was and how perfect they would look together.
Raven expressed how Bartise’s comments were not flattering to her because he only gave physical compliments rather than appreciating her mind and personality. She admits to him in person that they were not compatible emotionally and is uninterested.
Looks were constantly spoken about on Bartise’s end and it defeats the purpose of the social experiment.
Bartise in my eyes was not ready for marriage and did not appreciate Nancy enough for who she was throughout their time together. I wish Nancy would have recognized her worth instead of pursuing the unhealthy relationship.
In the end, Bartise was the one to say ‘I don’t’ at the altar, blindsiding Nancy with his decision. Nancy held her composure although she was hurt and decided to not continue their relationship after the show.
My Overall Review of Season Three
This season was extremely hard to follow because of the men this season but it made the show more interesting to watch.
I am happy about the endings each couple had and recommend other people to tune in to watch this season and the previous ones as well!
The series shares how the social experiment can be successful and how it may not always end in happily ever after.
