After enjoying Friday and Saturday, Sunday tends to creep up on us, and the Sunday scaries begin. Instead of viewing Sunday as “scary,” we can view it as a “me” day. While there is no way to escape the challenges that a new week may bring, starting the week off right may make you feel much more at peace. With this guide to getting the most out of Sundays, I was able to start setting myself up for success for the week ahead!

Doing Laundry

Sundays are the perfect day to do your laundry. If you’re like me, you have most likely put off doing the laundry the whole week and you now have a big pile of your dirty clothes. This could also be a good time to clean bed sheets and start the week sleeping in fresh, clean sheets, which has been helping to improve my sleep.

Planning out the week ahead

Getting myself organized was a daring task. Some techniques I used were writing down any events, assignments, or appointments I had  for the week ahead that would ease my mind. After I  made my list, it was overwhelming at first, but after I scheduled and planned when things will get done, it will feel way less daunting. It also helped to prioritize which tasks need to be completed first, scheduling the most important at the start of the week and the least important at the end.

Meal Prep

Just like planning out tasks for the week, it can also be very helpful to prep meals for the week. Figuring out what I was going to eat for dinner after a long day can be stressful and can result in taking the easy way out… ordering takeout for the fourth time There are so many resources online with easy recipes that don’t require a lot of ingredients, making it super easy and convenient. I kept in mind “how would my future self feel?”.

Pamper Routine

Once all the hard stuff is done, it’s time to prioritize self care and a pampering routine is my favorite way to do that! Take a bubble bath, slap on a face mask, wash your hair and do a hair mask, paint your nails – doing these things left me feeling refreshed and ready for the week to come.

Wind down early

It’s now time to unwind, catch up on the show you’re currently watching, read a chapter or two from the book you’re currently reading, journal, drink some tea, and relax. This is the well deserved rest time for a hard week.
