It’s the month of romance, and what better way to spend it than listening to gushy love songs? I have a ton of love songs on my playlist, but here is a list of my recent top 5 to kick off the month of Feburary.

5. “Sparks” by Coldplay

This song feels like love at first sight, and it deserves every bit of credit that it receives. The repetition in the chorus adds to this feeling. Coldplay sings, “I saw sparks,” a ton throughout the song, and each time is more beautiful than the last. I’m not usually one for slow songs, but this is definitely one of my favorites.

4. “Looking Out For You” by Joy Again

“Looking Out For You” tugs on the heart strings in more ways than one. It’s both bittersweet and romantic in the best way possible. What makes this song so enjoyable is the fact that Joy Again admits to the relatable feeling of nervousness surrounding love. The ukulele in the background also brings the lyrics to life.

3. “Try Again” by Jaehyun & d.ear

This heartfelt love dedication is written in Korean, but the meaning of the song is easily understood. You know a song is beautiful when you can feel the emotion even though half of the lyrics are in a language you don’t understand.

2. “I Hear a Symphony” by Cody Fry

The use of instruments in this song is top tier, and it amplifies the lyrics in an ethereal way. The timing of the music gives listeners the feeling of literally hearing a symphony while thinking of a special someone.

1. “I Wanna Be Yours” by Arctic Monkeys

This is a well known song and for a great reason. Imagine loving someone so much that you admit to wanting to be their vacuum cleaner! It doesn’t get more romantic than that.
