Waking up for an 8 a.m. class is never ideal, especially rushing out of your dorm room or speeding down the road to make it to class. Here’s where you can stop for a morning breakfast on campus.
Before or after your lecture, head over to Peet’s Coffee on the first floor of the Alan S. deVries Center on West Campus. Although it is a small space, the shop is filled with tables to do work or chat with friends. Most importantly, the menu has some great-tasting drinks and to-go treats.
Are you a coffee lover like myself? Peet’s Coffee has every imaginable combination from their White Chocolate Mocha to their Original Cold Brew Oat Latte, keeping you caffeinated for your long days.
If you’re more of a tea person, grab a hot Wild Berry Hibiscus tea or Mint Melange. Whether you need to be warmed up or cooled down by your drink of choice, they have every selection you need to stay refreshed for the day.
Besides the drinks, there are some tasty snacks for on-the-go or to sit down and enjoy. From muffins, tater tots, and other delicious food- there is something for everyone’s taste buds.
My favorite part about Peet’s as a Long Island native who loves bagels, they have the best baked goods on campus. You can get a plain bagel with cream cheese to a bacon, egg, and cheese classic, or the ‘Wolfe Attack’ Stony Brook-inspired sandwich.
Compared to some of the other food spots on-campus, most of the items on the menu at Peet’s Coffee are under $5. Some of the more intricate sandwiches could run up to around $10, but this is a great buy for some coffee-shop delights.
Even though there are other spots around the Stony Brook campus to fuel up, students on the West Side of campus can check out Peet’s Coffee. If you also need a nice place to relax and do some work, the shop is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
However, as college students, we are always on the go to make it through our busy schedules. If you don’t have any free time, you can place a GET mobile app order to stay charged for the day.
