Did somebody say free pizza? DiGiorno’s is back at it again with a new bet for the big game. During the 2023 Super Bowl on Feb. 12, you’ll have the chance to win a free pizza from DiGiorno if either team kicks a *doink.* Now, if you don’t know what a doink is, it’s when the football hits the goalpost — either on the crossbar or an upright. From Feb. 4 all the way until Feb. 12, fans can enter for a chance to win by filling out a quick form on the DiGiorno website. You could win a free pizza if either team kicks a plain old doink, a double-doink (where the ball hits both uprights), or even a doink for the game-winning point of the Super Bowl.
For last year’s Super Bowl, DiGiorno had a similar promotion where their fans could win a free pizza if the score at any point during the game was equivalent to the first three digits of Pi, the mathematical constant, which is 3.14. If the score was 3-14 or 14-3, then fans were able to score a free pizza pie after filling out the online form to enter. The free pizza offer also counted if there were more than 3.14 turnovers in the game, or if a player finished the game with 314 passing yards. This year, DiGiorno is back and ready to get their doink on for free pizza.
I mean, who doesn’t love free pizza? Now, if you’re wondering what the chances are of a doink being hit during the Super Bowl, you’re not the only one asking. According to historical ESPN data, in the last 10 years, three doinks have occurred during the Super Bowl game. Who says that this Sunday, three more doinks won’t happen?
