5 Mocktail Recipes So Good You’ll Want to Keep Drinking Them After Dry January

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Colgate chapter.

Dry January is over, but some of us are perpetual designated drivers. For those looking to stay sober while still enjoying a fun drink, these five mocktails are great for any occasion and super easy to make!

Piña Colada

2oz pineapple juice (2oz = ¼ cup)

2oz cream of coconut

2oz lime juice

For a slushie-like consistency, blend the ingredients with ice and pour into an empty glass. For a smoother texture, shake the ingredients with ice for fifteen seconds and strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with pineapple wedges or cherries. (For a cocktail, replace the lime juice with rum.)

Mojito

2oz lime juice

1oz simple syrup or 1 tbsp sugar

Club soda

5 mint leaves

Place mint leaves, lime juice, and simple syrup in a glass and crush mint leaves. Add ice and shake for fifteen seconds. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top off with club soda. Garnish with mint leaves or lime wedges. (For a cocktail, add 2oz of rum.)

Mimosa

4oz orange juice

4oz club soda (or ginger ale)

Combine orange juice and club soda in a glass, ice optional. (For a cocktail, substitute champagne or prosecco for the club soda.)

Cherry Limeade

1oz grenadine

2oz lime juice

3oz lemonade

3oz sprite

Combine in glass with ice and stir. (For a cocktail, use 2oz of lemonade and 2oz of sprite, then add 2oz of vodka or rum.)

Red Bull & Juice

2oz cranberry juice

2oz orange juice

2oz pineapple juice

8.4oz Red Bull can

Combine all three juices in a cup of ice. Top off with your preferred amount of Red Bull and stir. (For a cocktail, add 2oz of vodka.)

How to shake a mocktail: Use two cups of slightly different sizes. Put the ice and liquid inside the larger cup, then turn the smaller cup upside down and place it inside the larger glass, pushing down to create a seal between the two openings. Shake vigorously.
