Here’s Everything We Know About IVE’s Upcoming Full-Length Album

Ever since their debut back in 2021, the girl group IVE hasn’t really been out of the mind — or the charts — of K-Pop. With a daesang (grand prize) of Song of The Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and hits like “Love Dive” and “After Like” under their belt, the members have gained impressive critical and commercial acclaim in a little over a year. What’s been missing, though, is a full collection of their works; and to that, IVE’s agency, Starship Entertainment, announced on Feb. 17 that a first full-length album is finally due from the group in April 2023.

The company confirmed the rumors that the group would be making a comeback to the South Korean media group Korea JoongAng Daily. The representative from the agency was actually addressing a report, also from Feb. 17, that IVE was working on new music, but added in the information that the artists were actually preparing for a the drop of a full-fledged project at the beginning of April. 

NAME & RELEASE DATE

The release date of the record, like its title, hasn’t been announced thus far, but it will be shared by Starship Entertainment in the following weeks. Her Campus will update this piece when the release date is confirmed.

TRACKLIST

The news of a full-length album follows the debut of two new tracks by IVE, performed during the girl group’s first mini-concert, The Prom Queens, at the Olympic Hall in Seoul on Feb. 11 and 12. Titled “Blue Blood” and “Not Your Girl,” both tracks were also confirmed to be included in the upcoming record, which Starship says will fit as many songs as possible.

“After Like,” dropped in August 2022, was the group’s last work until now. With the interpolation of Gloria Graynor’s “I Will Survive,” the single took the No. 1 spot simultaneously in all the major South Korean charts shortly after it was released. The success followed the one held by its predecessor, “Love Dive.” The sixth most-streamed K-Pop song in 2022, according to Spotify, it also topped the domestic charts, making IVE the first fourth-generation group to reach the No. 1 spot with two songs, according to All Kpop. 

Compromised of former IZ*ONE members Yujin, Wonyoung, Gaeul, Liz, Rei, and Leeso, the group made their debut in the industry with the song “Eleven” in 2021. So far, IVE’s discography has been made out of singles and mini-albums.
