If you happen to find yourself with some free time, maybe you don’t have any work to do or are looking to take a break, but you still want to be productive, here are some things you can do in your free time at college.
Clean Your Room
Having a clean living environment will help you to feel more organized. First, vacuum your rug and clean the floors. Dirt and dust can build up quickly in a small space, and vacuuming can take care of that. Also, dust surfaces and windowsills. After that, use a product of your choice to thoroughly clean surfaces. Finally, open a window to change the air as well.
Organize Your Space
After you’ve cleaned, put things back in their place. If you have stuff on your desk, put items back in their drawers, on their shelves, in their containers, etc. Put clothes back in your drawers and closet. Put food away and clean dishes that may have piled up before putting them away as well. You can also take the time to reorganize shelves and drawers that may have become cluttered.
Change Your Sheets and/or Do Laundry
Wash your sheets or change them if you have multiple sets. Reorganize your pillows once you’re done. Next, put a load of laundry in. You can prioritize outfits you want to wear in the following days or follow your normal washing routine. Put them in a dryer or on a drying rack. Fold them and put them away once they are dry. Don’t forget to wash your towels too! Doing your laundry may take a few hours, depending on how much you have to do, so you can follow any of these other suggestions while you wait.
Me Time
Rearrange your decorations or swap items out if you have seasonal decor. You can also take the opportunity to water your plants. Take some time to care for yourself too. Put on a face mask, paint your nails, or take a warm shower. You can journal or plan out a schedule for the week as well. Catch up with your family or friends from home. Reach out via text or even give them a phone call.
