Fun Things to do with your Friends When There is NOTHING Else to do

We’ve all been there. You are hanging out with a group of friends and you find yourselves with nothing much to do. This is a really big issue in the winter months when you can’t really go outside. Maybe your area doesn’t have much to do and you need some creative ideas. Sometimes you want to do something spontaneous that is fairly inexpensive. Today, I am going to share with you some of my favorite things to do with friends when there is literally nothing else to do.

  1. Go for a walk.

This is one of my favorite things to do, especially when it’s nice outside. What I like to do is just keep walking, take random turns and find new places. Just make sure to be safe and make sure you have your phone charged so you have a GPS available to find your way back. This is a great idea to just lose track of time and talk with your friends about anything and everything and before you know it, you’ve been walking for 2 hours and in the next town over! It is also a good way to find new places you may want to explore in the future.

  1. Find an area to jam out.

I don’t know how many people this will apply to, but one of my favorite things to do when I go home and want to catch up with old friends is going to one of the town beaches, park our cars, play music, and just hang out, enjoying each other’s company. This is especially fun at night when the areas are mostly empty and aren’t crowded with parents and small children. This was one of my favorite things to do in high school and it will probably always be my favorite way to catch up with people.

  1. Spontaneous photoshoots!

This is a really fun one to me. Just putting on random cute outfits, doing some funky makeup, going to different places and taking photos of each other is always fun. One thing my friends and I used to do was set up someone’s phone against the windshield of the car and take timer photos in funny poses. A bonus to this one is you will have some really fun photos to post if your Instagram feed is looking a little bare.

  1. Make Pinterest boards for each other.

This was one thing my friends and I used to do in highschool when we were bored during study hall. We would randomly be assigned a person in the group and have 30 minutes to make a board based on them and their aesthetic. Then, when the timer is up, we would present them. You can take this as seriously or as silly as you would like.

  1. Painting!

This one requires you to spend a little bit of money, but you can go out and buy a couple canvases (one per person) and some paint and brushes. Set a timer for however long you would like and every time the timer goes off you rotate canvases. A fun twist to this game would be to not give anyone any context of what you are trying to paint and have them guess. This will make for some really good outcomes. Another bonus to this, is that you have a beautiful piece of artwork with some amazing memories attached to it.
