Puss in Boots is on the last of his nine lives so he goes on a dangerous quest to hopefully obtain the last wish which will grant him the wish of him being able to live more lives. Â
I’ve never been so excited to see a movie in theaters. I watched it right when it came out. I was so happy that my favorite character since childhood had another movie coming out. I’m so obsessed with Puss in Boots that I have Puss in Boots house slippers, the Build a Bear, and I even named my orange cat after his character. Â
Goldilocks being introduced was such a great idea to bring into the series. One of the reasons why I like the Shrek series so much is because of all the fairytale characters who are in these movies. Since I always would read fairytale books as a kid, I picked up on the references easily especially during the scene when they are in a setting of a house with their chairs, porridges and beds. I thought it was interesting how in the original story, Goldilocks was the bear’s biggest enemies but in this movie, they are one happy family. Â
I do prefer the animation that was used in the previous films, but the new animation style that is shown in this movie is interesting too. Â
It was definitely different. The storyline was something I was not expecting. Although I’ve always seen Puss in Boots as an adventurous character, I never would have thought he would have storylines about him dying and coming back to life.Â
By the end of the film, Puss in Boots, Kitty Softpaws and Perrito are seen on a boat. Perrito asks the question “where are we headed anyways?” to which Puss in Boots replies “Off to find new adventures and to see some old friends.” The screen then reveals they are going to Far Far Away, the setting where most of the Shrek movies take place. Upon hearing that line and seeing them travel to Far Far Away, many fans believe that this implies that a fifth installment to the Shrek movies will be happening in the future. I have my fingers crossed that this will happen.
