It’s March, and that means it’s finally Women’s History Month! If you’re like me and you LOVE supporting women, here are 4 women-owned beauty brands that you should support for Women’s History Month! All of these brands are so popular right now and are completely changing the game.
Rare Beauty
Firstly, one of my favorite beauty brands of all time is none other than Rare Beauty! Rare Beauty is owned and founded by Selena Gomez. The brand was launched in 2019, and it has taken the internet by storm with its products. Unlike many celebrity beauty brands, Rare Beauty truly stands on its own and the quality of the products is phenomenal. Personally, I love the message of self-love that Selena Gomez is spreading with this brand and the awareness of mental health. As someone who struggles with many mental health issues, I love supporting the brand and it makes me feel good knowing that 1% of all sales are being donated to Rare Impact Fund, a fund that is raising $100 Million to expand access to mental health services and education around the world. Additionally, Rare Beauty’s product packaging is highly accessible, as the design of the packaging was made in mind for those with dexterity challenges. Some of my favorite Rare Beauty products are the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush and Positive Light Under Eye Brightener.Â
Makeup Eraser
Another one of my favorite beauty brands ever is Makeup Eraser! Makeup Eraser is owned and founded by Elexsis McCarthy, and she launched the brand in 2013. Makeup Eraser is a brand that makes reusable makeup remover towels, which you can use to remove makeup with just water. When they become dirty, all you need to do is wash them and they are ready to be reused! I am a big fan of finding sustainable eco-friendly alternatives to one-time-use products, so naturally, I became a huge fan of this product right away. I love that they are extremely long-lasting, as one Makeup Eraser can last you up to 3 – 5 years. Additionally, Makeup Eraser has so many patterns and colors available on its website, so they have something for everyone. All of their products are vegan and cruelty-free.
Glow Recipe
Another amazing women-owned beauty brand is Glow Recipe. Glow Recipe was co-founded in 2014 by Christine Chang and Sarah Lee. Glow Recipe is a K-beauty-inspired skincare brand that has recently become very popular on social media due to its viral products. Glow Recipe is mostly known for its clean fruit-forward formulas which contain sustainably sourced ingredients. The brand is also very charitable, with their $1 Million pledge to donate to their Glow for Good social impact fund that focuses on giving to causes of diversity, inclusion, environmental preservation, and female empowerment. Personally, I love all of Glow Recipes’ products, and the price ranges are so affordable for a skincare brand, with most of the products ranging between $15-$45. Additionally, the packaging is so pretty and the smells of the products are amazing. However, even though Glow Recipe is completely cruelty-free, they are not 100% vegan. Some of my favorite products are the Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner and the Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops.Â
Sol de Janeiro
Last but not least, Sol de Janeiro, is another woman-owned beauty brand that I have been obsessing over lately! Sol de Janeiro, is a Brazilian-inspired makeup brand co-founded by CEO, Heela Yang, in 2015. Sol de Janiero became viral on social media due to their exotic and tropical-smelling body care products. Sol de Janeiro prides itself on being 100% sustainably sourced and clean. Except for the Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter, all of their products are not only vegan, but contain no sulfates, phthalates, parabens, mineral oil, or micro-plastics. However, they are 100% cruelty-free. I absolutely love these products, and I can’t imagine my life without them anymore. They smell so good, and the scent is extremely long-lasting. My favorite scent is Beija Flor, and I love the perfume mists and Bum Bum creams. I love the bright and beautiful colors on the packaging and how it looks in a room or on display. One of my favorite products is their Passport to Paradise Perfume Set linked here.Â
