As I’m sure all the college freshmen felt this year, one word to describe my first year would be “wow.” This word perfectly describes all the good, bad, and crazy moments when it comes to being a first-year student, as well as an out-of-state commuter. The good and rewarding times definitely outweigh all the bad, so talking about the bad ones first only makes sense. There was a whole lot of stress that came over me this semester when it comes to the commute that I make every day to get from South Jersey to Jefferson’s East Falls campus. On top of all the traffic and the crazy drivers stressing me out before and after classes, there were a lot of moments where classes and exams also stressed me out. All this stress really did weigh me down a lot of times and make me want to give up. But all the amazing things that college has given me made make realize it is all worth it.
When the stress died down for me, it really made me realize how amazing college is and how much I have learned from it. The hard work does really pay off when the good grades come and the relief feeling comes. On top of the classes aspect, I met so many amazing people on campus including professors and fellow students. Everyone I have ever met at Jefferson has been so nice and helpful in every way possible. And finally, joining the Her Campus group at Jefferson! Being a part of this group my first year of college has been very awesome as I love to share my ideas and interests with the world! I cannot wait to be back as a sophomore. See you in the fall Her Campus!
