Social media is the biggest influencer in our lives. People believe just about anything especially when it is coming from the internet. When it comes to the world of nutrition you have to be mindful of where you get your information from. Ask yourself, is it trusting? Does it provide all foods or does it seem restrictive? If you’re on the fence with these questions, consider the source. Here are a few of my favorite Tik Tok dietitians who take their nutrition knowledge and preach positivity through food and how to get the most out of your diet.Â
- @mamknowsnutrition Katie Barnes, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist: Katie has videos that pertain specifically to toddler and kid nutrition. Believe it or not, it’s better to know these tips now than later because how you eat when you’re young can shape how you eat as an adult. Katie touches on kids’ and toddlers eating behaviors as well as comparing foods on what will be the most beneficial for your child, especially in those early years.Â
- @nutritionbymia Mia Syn, Registered Dietitian: Mia has a great variety of recipes for every taste level and every type of cook in the kitchen. She makes nutrition easy and shows you the basics with some simple meals to help you get the most nutritional quality out of each meal. Mia also does dietitian-approved finds that can help you navigate your way through your next grocery store trip.Â
- @nutritionbykylie Kylie, RD: Kylie focuses on the people that are on the go, they have a busy lifestyle and sometimes can’t take time each day to fully prepare a meal. She focuses on easy food prep that can be done during one that will help you have all that you need for your entire week. Kylie has great recipes that you won’t be bored of halfway through the week.Â
- @stephgrassodietitian Steph Grasso, Registered Dietitian: Steph is one of the first dietitians that I came across when getting interested in nutrition Tik Tok. She focuses on taking a basic meal like just pasta and adding vegetables into your pasta to help elevate it for taste level as well as nutritional value to get great sources of vitamins and minerals. Steph also helps you with tips for your next grocery shopping trip that can provide information for navigating your way around the store and what is beneficial to have in your pantry to have a nutrient-dense meal.Â
- @nutritionalsarah Sarah Williams, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist: Sarah has some of the best super simple meals. She uses recipes that involve all foods and emphasizes that all foods fit. She wants people to understand you can have a cookie and not feel guilty and give in to your indulgences but reminds you mindful and balance it out with all food groups. Sarah also reminds you in every recipe she shows us to “measure with your heart,” when it comes to spices.Â
- @abbeyskitchen Abbey Sharp, Registered Dietitian: Abbey is one of those dietitians that doesn’t hold back. I love how honest she is especially with her views on trending nutrition topics, celebrity diets, and so much more. Her favorite videos of mine are when she goes to different fast food and chain restaurants to show how you can still enjoy a meal from one of your favorites and the nutritional quality in the meal.Â
Educating ourselves on diet and wellness is important. It is valuable to find what works for you and your body type. Each one of these dietitians helps you to show that nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. It takes building blocks and skills but once those skills are polished and refined it becomes a common practice in your everyday life. The biggest takeaway from each of these women is all foods fit. Check out more of their content on Tik Tok and get inspired.Â
