College can get really stressful if you do not prepare yourself for upcoming events. Here’s some ways you could destress.
- Waking up in the morning and getting the proper 7-8 hours of sleep.
- Create a schedule that does not make you feel overwhelmed by using some form of a planner, it could be Google Calendar or a physical planner.
- Doing stress-free activities that relaxes the mind like coloring, listening to music, exercising, or hanging out with friends.
- Do not procrastinate your assignments until the day of because that creates unnecessary stress that you do not need to worry about.
- Having a clean diet can help because you will gain more energy from a proper diet.
- Doing self-care days for the best. Putting yourself first for the day is relaxing. On your own care days you can do what you love yourself that could be shopping, getting your nails done, reading, or whatever you feel amusing.
- Going to the spa is the most amazing thing you can do to destress yourself.
I started doing these things more when I started the second semester of sophomore year. I really used to burn myself out, which is not good for my mental health. To make these a habit just make sure you start off slow and progressive with adding more distressing tools.Â
