“The Cereal Bar: Adventures in Ice Cream” is a dessert shop on Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, FL. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the shop opened on November 9, 2022. The shop is known for its ice cream infused with different cereal flavors of your choosing. They have classic childhood cereals: Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, and much more. If you are not a cereal fan, they also have different flavored pop-tarts!

When entering, you will see their vast menu. You can take on an adventure and follow the steps to create your extravagant flavorful creation! The first step is to choose your base: bowl, milkshake, cone, or waffle cloud. After picking your base, you choose your ice cream flavor. They have three classic ice cream flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. However, they also have seasonal flavors if you want something more thrilling. The seasonal flavors: peppermint, cookie butter, cinnamon, espresso, and vegan vanilla flavored ice cream! The third step is to choose your cereal or pop tart! Some cereal choices are Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, Rice Krispies, Reese’s Puffs, Frosted Flakes, and much more! Some poptastic pop tart choices are strawberry, s’mores, grape, brown sugar cinnamon, and snickerdoodle. You can even pick a combination of different cereal or pop tarts together. There are no wrong choices in your creation. The last step is to add any toppings to finish your masterpiece. The toppings: Nutella sauce, chocolate sauce, marshmallow drizzle, Oreo pieces, honey, and more! There is also the option of choosing only ice cream if you prefer a simpler dessert.

If you are curious how they create your infused cereal ice cream flavor, look at their Instagram! They use a drill-style machine to blend the cereal (or pop tart) and the ice cream to create a tasty soft serve.

My Experience:

When my friend and I entered the colorful shop, a worker greeted us and asked if this was our first time ordering. It was my first time, but not my friend’s. The worker was happy to explain how to build a soft serve ice cream to me. I ordered a waffle cloud with strawberry ice cream, Fruit Loops cereal, and a strawberry pop tart combination with Oreo crumbs and whipped cream. I chose the small size, but in my opinion, I felt the portion was enormous on a waffle cloud. However, I am not complaining because I enjoyed every bite of ice cream. I regret not finishing it because I was not expecting it to be big on a waffle cloud. If you want a small portion, my friend ordered a small bowl base, and she finished it. The Cereal Bar is a must-visit if you love everything sweet and cereal.
