October is a win for the swifties as we all gather up to receive her new re-recorded album 1989 (Taylor’s Version). I’d love to go back and talk about when Taylor released 1989 and remember all the iconic and unforgettable moments that went down in history. The fifth studio album was named after her birth year and represents her rebirth as she tries a whole new genre and embraces new beginnings. Also this era started in 2014, I was just in 5th grade and my life completely changed when Taylor released this album. I’m talking about how impactful her music was when 1989 was released, her fame grew even more and so did her fandom. She was at her best, and well known to receive the music industry title due to her versatile ability to change from country to pop genre (and still to this day she’s the best at any other genre shift). I still can remember the first time I heard my favorite song, “Welcome to New York”. It was the first ever song I purchased from Apple music. From the first listen I already knew Taylor had delivered us a pop banger or that’s what I thought when I first saw and heard “Shake It Off”. 1989 was based on New York City’s aesthetic such as city lights, perfect landscape and many things to do at once in the big apple. This city gave Taylor the inspiration she needed to create 1989 and all its perfection. Every swiftie could tell it was a game changer once she released the best pop album of the century. I could say that 2014 was all hers since she gave us these total bangers and also it was the best years when we were young.
To this day “Blank Space” is her most streamed track with a total of 1,479,219,254 streams. Taylor met, made friends and broke the internet with her squad, who are also the ones that appeared in “Bad Blood”. She wrote about her past loves, naming one of the tracks “Style” thanks to her well known ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. I’m pretty sure it was the greatest year for every fangirl out there, T. Swift released 1989, the ALS ice bucket challenge, The Fault In Our Stars and One Direction announced their fourth studio album titled “Four”. Back to 1989, it was an album with many symbols such as the polaroids, the red lipstick with glasses, and the flying seagulls sweatshirt, and that’s just not it! This very album won Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2016 Grammys, the year when this era came to an end. She left us with a music video of “New Romantics” as a sign of gratitude to her fandom, swifties. .On a personal note I’’m lately loving “Wildest Dream’s” intro so much it brings me back to my past and its just perfect!
Now 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to become owned by herself and we get 5 new vault tracks this October 25th. The purpose of these re-recordings are a smart move and big strategy for the biggest pop star at this moment. She decides to save all her past albums and own them because she has the right and very well deserved.
