- Kiss, Marry, OR Kill
-
Whether you’re looking for a solo or a group costume, this one is an easy and creative option! Growing up in the early 2000s, I’m sure all of us played a round or two of Kiss, Marry, or Kill with our childhood friends. To turn it into a fun Halloween costume, you first must pick which of the three you’d like to be! If you choose Kill, I’d recommend an all-black outfit, some fake blood as an accessory, and the word “Kill” written somewhere visible. For Marry, I’d do the exact opposite and immediately go with a tacky, bridal shower vibe in all-white! Lastly, my personal favorite, if you’re feeling like dressing as Kiss, I would do something like a Cupid costume. I think the best option for Kiss is an all-red, leather/lacey outfit, and you absolutely have to include red lipstick!
- Coastal Cowgirl
-
Stealing a little inspiration from TikTok never hurts anyone! I once dressed as a classic cowgirl for Halloween about three years ago, but I think Coastal Cowgirl elevates the look even more. It’s the perfect combination of a mermaid and cowgirl vibe! I would recommend starting with some sort of jean skirt as a base (which you can find easily at Goodwill) and a cowgirl hat. You can even DIY your cowgirl hat at home to add accessories such as shells or beads! I think it’s also important to include lots of jewelry in your outfit and a white/tied-up shirt. There are so many ways to take what you already have in your closet and incorporate it into this seaside Halloween Costume, have fun with it!
- 80s Workout Fanatic
-
If you have a good collection of workout clothes or if you have a Five Below nearby, you should definitely consider this costume! I suggest making sure you have at least one piece in your outfit that consists of neon colors or bright patterns to really inhabit that funky 80s vibe. One thing they were huge on is leg warmers, so if you have an old pair of big socks you’re comfortable with cutting, go for it! Five Below has a ton of fun workout clothes such as leggings, tanks, and headbands that are affordable and perfect for this costume.
- Greek Goddess
-
This one may require you to go digging in your mom’s linen closet, but I think that’s a great idea! Some examples of Roman Goddesses include Aphrodite, Athena, or Hera. For this one, you can DIY your own Toga with a white sheet on YouTube, add some green ivy from Dollar Tree, and incorporate some gold jewelry. This is definitely one of the easiest and cheapest options I listed, so use that knowledge wisely!
- 60s Hippie
-
My personal favorite, because it’s one of my Halloween costumes this year! Dressing as a hippie in this state of fashion is actually a lot easier than you might think. Retail stores like Target or Walmart sell a lot of cheap, 60s-inspired floral clothing items in their teens and women’s section that could easily be incorporated into your look! I recommend finding a cute headband or a floral headpiece that will pull it all together. You can also look on Amazon for kits that include hippie accessories like headbands, necklaces, and glasses that are usually under $10!
