Have you ever wondered why so many people in Texas (or even non-Texans) love Buc-ee’s? This gas station has many fans that really enjoy going, and I’m one of them. I live near a Buc-ee’s, so it would be normal to go during the weekends or a late night trip during weekdays. I would say during the weekends it gets full because of people traveling so there would be very long lines for the bathroom. While I’m on the topic of bathrooms, Buc-ee’s probably has the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. They are like squeaky clean.
For me, what I love about Buc-ee’s — besides the clean bathrooms — is the clothing merchandise! I probably own a lot of the Buc-ee’s t-shirts … I mean like a lot. It’s practically required to own at least one t-shirt of Buc-ee’s if you live in Texas. I also love the food from Buc-ee’s. My go-to snacks are a sliced brisket sandwich, a Large Dr. Pepper, sour power belts, chocolate covered almonds, beaver nuggets (beaver nuggets are a must) and at least one piece of clothing merchandise. Buc-ee’s comes out with their seasonal t-shirts. I have both Christmas and Halloween shirts. I do miss going on the late night trips to Buc-ee’s with my aunt and two grandparents. What I also miss hearing occasionally was the “fresh brisket on the board” whenever the brisket would be ready to serve in sandwiches.
As I am writing this, I am currently wearing a Buc-ee’s shirt, but anyways … enough about me. I asked my fellow Buc-ee’s lovers on a facebook group reasons why they love Buc-ee’s! Here are just a few reasons why people love Buc-ee’s.
- “If you ever had to explain it to someone, you could tell them it’s like Disney World, but there are no rides.”
- “Just one of the best parts of Texas.”
- “What’s not to love? I get so excited and can’t wait to see all the people shopping and buying the beaver nuggets and all the souvenirs. I can’t wait for Christmas when they put out their Christmas stuff.”
- “You never know what you’re going to find! It’s a great place to shop. If you’re on a road trip, you can use the fabulous and plentiful and immaculate bathroom facilities, buy yummy food or snacks and drinks and stretch your legs a bit before getting back on the road.”
- “I love the food, house items and clothing. The BEST bathrooms ever!”
- “Clean bathrooms!”
- “Cleanest public bathrooms ever!”
- “It reminds me of my childhood and stopping at Stuckey’s (Buc-ee’s is just like it, only mega bigger). I tell people Buc-ee’s isn’t a convenience store, it’s an experience. The sights, sounds, the excitement and best of all, the food!”
- “No truckers so you get more of a family customer base.”
- “It’s a Texas thing.”
- “I’ll drive three and a half hours one way to get my fix of the following: Buc-ee’s bbq sauce, two pounds of sliced beef brisket, fresh jerky, and fudge and cinnamon rolls from the bakery section. They have to be the best brisket period!”
- “Above all, super clean restrooms with plenty of room for everyone. NO WAIT! Then there is so much adorable Buc-ee’s merchandise to look at even if you don’t buy it. Who can resist that cute beaver? There is also a little bit of everything in the store. They always seem to have something new. Then there’s the food. The brisket sammies are incredible. I think it’s along the same lines as the iconic Stuckey’s stores that everyone stopped at while traveling back in the 70’s and 80’s.”
- “I love it because there are no “gas stations” in the north like it! The people are friendly and helpful, the food is amazing, the clothes are fun and comfy, you can grab gifts for the whole family, pack for a picnic and have peace and quiet while “taking care of business!” No place better!”
- “The cleanest restrooms, the beaver nuggets, the candied cashews, the selection of so many different food items and the clothes and such they sell are good quality. I also like the amount of gas pumps they have and just the atmosphere when I drive into the place!”
- “Beaver nuggets.”
And lastly, “Fresh brisket on the board.”
