Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) has undoubtedly become one of the fastest-growing trends on TikTok and YouTube. The videos are a form of skits, role-play, or simply talking into a microphone. It has transcended its way into our homes with the primary intention of putting people to sleep or, at least, putting me to sleep!

Upon my first discovery of ASMR, I didn’t particularly like it. It seemed peculiar to be whispering and speaking so softly into a microphone. Honestly, it weirded me out.

But one restless night, I went down a rabbit hole on TikTok and stumbled into a new world filled with tingles, whispers, and sounds that put my body into a deep sleep, and hopefully, they can do the same for you.

Below are my five favourite ASMR accounts on TikTok and YouTube.

Sassysoundasmr

Selena Agosto, or SassySoundsASMR, is a popular ASMR creator with six million followers on TikTok and 1.12 million followers on YouTube.

Sassy is known for her wacky videos about classroom role-play, bugs ASMR, pickle-eating, and, my favourite, her sour candy videos. She regularly stays connected with her audience by hosting TikTok lives, where she streams from her room.

Starting her career in 2021, she has skyrocketed to TikTok stardom, with most of her videos accumulating over 100,000 views. The newfound fame has allowed her to move into a new house, purchase a Tesla, and even have her face featured on a Times Square Billboard.

ASMR Jas

ASMR Jas is my second favourite ASMR content creator. She has 1.1 million followers on TikTok and 350,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Jas’ videos are centred around dental and doctor role-play. Positioned behind the camera, she performs scenarios that would happen in medical check-ups. Her ASMR videos are soothing and perfect to enjoy after a long day at school or work.

My favourite video on her account is the “Scalp Check” Video, posted in October 2021.

ASMR Twix

ASMR Twix is a YouTuber with 778,000 subscribers. Her videos are catered around visiting luxury spas in Japan, where she is given facials, scalp treatments, and massages. Her videos show the hospitality of Japan’s service industry and their deep attention and care for clients.

ASMR Twix’s videos are aesthetically pleasing to her viewers due to her calming aura. Her channel feels like a warm and inviting experience.

Most videos also have closed captioning for international viewers and camera angles that give her audience an in-depth feel of the luxury experience. This channel is a must-watch if you are looking for quality content and sound experience.

Joyceful Tingles

Joyceful Tingles is a content creator with over 2.6 million followers on TikTok and 443,000 subscribers on YouTube. Her content is about role play, makeup tutorials, and videos on toys and food.

The 25-year-old showcases her funny and bubbly personality to her fans, making her videos rewatchable. She is the perfect creator if you are looking for fun content. My favourite videos on her account are her beauty reviews of popular brands.

Sunshine Jazzy ASMR

Sunshine Jazzy ASMR is a content creator with 2.6 million followers on TikTok and over 430,000 subscribers on YouTube. Jazzy’s account is perfect for anyone who loves tingles, water sounds, whispering, and cosplay.

She goes live on TikTok every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, spending hours engaging with fans, answering questions and putting her viewers to sleep. Her videos are a great way to unwind after a long day and catch up on much-needed relaxation.

ASMR has become a new way to interpret sound and how it impacts our sensory organs. It will be exciting to see how creative it will continue to get and how if it will evolve to cater to a broader audience.
