5 ‘My Life With The Walter Boys’ Plotlines I Want To See In Season 2

The Season 1 finale of Netflix’s latest YA series My Life With The Walter Boys wrapped up some of the show’s main plotlines quite well: Haley and Will finally tied the knot, Danny got into theatre school in NYC, and Jackie made the decision to return home to NYC. But, TBH, I still feel like things were missing that I need to talk about. And there are certainly other plotlines that I want to see if we ever get a Season 2.

But before that, let’s recap a bit. Because y’all, this show covers a lot. IMO, here are the most important things to keep in mind leading into (a potential) Season 2. Danny (love him) gets into theatre school in New York; Tara finds out Nikhil isn’t moving to London (after sharing a moment with Uncle Richard…); Alex confesses his love for Jackie; Jackie finds the teapot Cole fixed for her, and they kiss (finally); and, last but not least, Jackie returns home to NYC with Uncle Richard. So yeah, I have way too many questions after Season 1 and I need answers ASAP. 

Here are five plotlines we would want to see in Season 2, if it is made. Netflix, I’m begging you. I need more Cole Walter content! 

Jackie and Cole’s Relationship

From the beginning, I was Team Cole. He gave me major Conrad Fisher vibes, and is totally hot. But, I think he and Jackie also have a lot of similarities, oddly enough. Cole lost his dream of playing football after an injury, and he’s now learning how to piece his life back together. Of course, that can not be compared to the tragedy Jackie faced, of losing her entire family, but they are both grieving the loss of something. I think it would be interesting to see their relationship develop more, both romantically, but also as friends.

But, of course, we have no idea what Jackie’s story will become. All I know is that I hope she and Cole’s cross paths again. I need it. 

Jackie’s Family History

Jackie’s arrival at the Walter home came after the horrific family tragedy she faced. Though it’s pretty clear that she’s grieving her family in the beginning,I feel like the struggles she faced and the family she so dearly misses aren’t talked about enough in the show. It would be interesting to learn more about Jackie’s family history —for example, her mother’s career as an accomplished fashion designer —to see how they shaped her. I also think this would help the Walter boys understand her more, especially Cole and Alex. 

Jackie’s Future – Will She Return To The Walters?

As the show progressed, it seemed like Jackie started to truly find her spot in the family as an honorary Walter. She established a great relationship with the siblings and with the Walter parents. But, from the beginning, we learn that Jackie has her eyes on the prize and already has her future plans lined up. Can a life in Colorado provide her with what she needs to achieve these plans? Or will Jackie have to stay in NYC? Personally, I hope Jackie returns to the Walters, but not right away. I think she has a lot of things about herself, her family trauma, and her future to figure out and the best way for her to do that might be in a distraction-free environment. (AKA, no Cole or Alex for a little while). 

Cole’s Future Plans

Sue me, but I want as much Cole content as I can get. I feel like there’s some information about him that viewers still need to know.I’m personally interested in learning more about his accident which caused him to lose football. Of course, I also want to know more about Cole’s future plans to see if they align with Jackie’s in any way. 

Danny’s Future in NYC 

Danny is one of my favorite Walter brothers. He is arguably the kindest one and he’s  determined to succeed. In the last episode, Danny is packing his bags to go to NYC, clearly worried. TBH, it’s unclear if he goes through with moving to NYC for theatre school, but I hope he does because  I think his story and life in the Big Apple would provide some more depth and a new setting to the show. 

These are just some of the many plotlines viewers want to see in Season 2. If I had to pick one out of these, Jackie and Cole’s future is what I want to see the most. And I think we all know why.
