With the New Year creeping up on us, it is almost time to start creating goals and vision boards to inspire us to flourish in 2024. If there is one thing that helps hold me accountable to achieving my goals, it would be making vision boards via Pinterest. Creating a vision board sounds intimidating but I promise, they are not, and once you get into it, it becomes super fun.Â
Step 1: Create a Pinterest Account!
Pinterest is a free app that can be downloaded on cellular devices, and tablets, or you can just create an account on the Pinterest website on any computer. Creating an account is fairly simple, you just need to provide an email, and come up with a username and password!
Step 2: Create a board!
To create a board on a smartphone or tablet, you go to the app and hit the plus sign that is located at the bottom of the screen. Then it gives you the option to create a pin or a board, all you need to do is tap the board button!
When using a computer, after signing in or logging into Pinterest, there will be a circle to the far right of your screen that has your profile picture in it. Click on that! Next, you will click on the plus sign that is usually on the right side in the middle of the screen. Click on that and choose the board option just as you would on a smartphone/tablet!
Step 3: Think of a name!
This is where the creativity starts to flow! Whatever you envision should mainly be the name of the board! When naming my vision boards I never do anything crazy, most of them are to the point of what I want to pin! Some examples of my names are, My Future Life, Dec. 23, 2023 Vision Board, Clothes I Luv, and, of course, All Things Wedding.
Step 4: Envision the goal you want to achieve and the vibe surrounding it!
I like to make monthly vision boards to try and motivate me to not rot in my room, especially when it gets colder. So I find pins of girls doing cute winter activities, or cute winter outfits. Doing well in school is another thing I prioritize and have goals for, so I also include pictures of good grades or inspiring quotes to remind me to keep working. For my yearly vision boards, I like to think of where I want to see myself in that month and go from there. I like to pin pictures that speak to me in a way. If I feel like a certain picture is my vibe or motivates me to stay on track then I will pin it.Â
These four simple steps are a blessing and a curse. You are going to feel productive for making your goals come to life and have this board as a way to manifest your goals into reality. But, on the contrary, you might end up wanting to spend your time making endless boards for any goal or life event!
