I consider myself to be somewhat busy pretty much all of the time, but I feel especially busy this week.

Maybe that’s because I like to take frequent “breaks” (a.k.a rot in my bed for hours) from my final assignments and end up getting nothing done, but that’s another story.

I take the standard fifteen credits, and I am an English major, so I have more papers than actual exams to prepare for.

This semester, I took English Literature I, History (Europe to 1815), Honors Candidates, Campaigns & the Current Election, Race and Crime, and a dual philosophy and women’s studies class (Feminist Philosophy). I had the pleasure of taking a variety of classes and learned a lot this semester.

But, all good things must come to an end, and I will have my last class of my third semester at Bonas on Friday.

Here’s what a day in my life looks like during the week before finals:

8:00 am: “Wake up”

My alarm is super aggressive and painfully loud.

That does not stop me from turning it off and setting a one hour timer to catch another very needed hour of sleep.

9:00 am: actually wake up and commence AM rot

I’ve found that the one hour sleep extension is not only needed, but also when I have the most vivid dreams.

After this hour, I actually wake up, but don’t be fooled, I will not be leaving my bed for a minimum of forty-five minutes.

It’s mostly laziness, but my face is super swollen when I wake up, so I need some time to just sit in my bed, drink some water, and watch mindless TV (Grey’s Anatomy).

9:45 am: Shower and get ready

I usually shower at night, but I have been staying at the library super late, so I’ve switched to mornings.

For skin care, I try to keep it as simple as possible. I use CeraVe foaming cleanser for acne and then ice roll. I just got the Trader Joe’s maracuja oil, so I use that before I gua-sha. I finish with the CeraVe lotion for rough and bumpy skin.

I straightened my hair earlier this week, so I touched it up, put on some mascara, and went about my day.

11:15 AM: Dunkin’ and Lunch

I desperately needed a coffee (always a french vanilla iced coffee with cream and sugar), and then headed to the main dining hall for some lunch.

12:45 PM: Class and more class

I have two classes every day except Friday, so I headed to my first class, Race and Crime. I try to be early to all of my classes so I can get settled and read over any assignments.

We had some group work and a class discussion about Bruce Springsteen’s song “American Skin (41 Shots).”

My professor let us out pretty early, so I headed to the library to print out a script for my final presentation.

I ran into some of my friends and led them on a tour to a super secret bathroom and stairway.

After my fun in the library, I headed to my English class. We were given time to work on course evaluations and then had a brief discussion and were freed for the day which was surprisingly bittersweet.

3:30 pm: Bookstore

I have been meaning to return my Feminist Philosophy textbook for a while and I finally remembered to put it in my backpack, so I brought it back to the campus bookstore and looked around for possible Christmas gifts.

4:15 pm: Errands

I have yet to find a way to say no to a Marshall’s trip.

My friend needed some snacks from Walmart so we stopped there and headed to Marshall’s, which is surprisingly impressively stocked considering it’s in Allegany, NY.

I was actually able to exercise some self-control and not buy everything in sight, so we decided to treat ourselves to Sage, a smoothie place near campus. I didn’t get anything, but I was almost tempted by their pickle soup!

5:30 pm: Library rot

After returning to campus, I decided to go to the quiet floor to work on some homework and attend to some Her Campus business.

I began my article, planned some events for when we return to school, and found some inspiration for new Tik Tok’s.

7:30 pm: cart City taste test

Outside of my on-campus involvement, I work at Cart City, a late night hot dog stand in downtown Allegany.

Tonight, I was invited to sample a new special, which was amazing (duh!), and spend time with some other Cart City workers and fans.

It was a really fun break from my work and a great chance to bond with my peers.

9:00 pm: Burton Trivia

After my Cart City fun, my friends and I decided to try our hand at Christmas trivia at the Burton, an iconic local bar and burger joint.

We struggled to answer some questions, but ended up in third place and won a $10 gift card! Not too shabby!

11:00 pm: ZZZ

After getting back to my dorm, I decided to take an everything shower, tan, and get my life together before finals. Although I have spoken out against self-tanning in the past, I have found that Tanologist has an excellent line of light tanning foam and drops that give the perfect subtle glow.

I did a quick load of laundry and cleaned up my room a little.

I worked on a study guide for my one final exam and finally hit the hay a little before midnight.
