13 Outfits For SantaCon That’ll Have You Feeling *Pine*

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than with, well, a bar crawl, of course! (If you’re 21 or older, that is.) And whether you’re going out on an official SantaCon bar crawl, attending your local bar’s holiday night, or just going out in the month of December, you’re going to want to look festive with a holiday outfit that’s SantaCon-ready. The good news is, even if you decide to invest in something new, most of these outfit ideas include pieces that are wearable into the winter season, or even all year round.

If you don’t want to buy a whole new holiday outfit, use accessories and your makeup to your advantage! There is nothing wrong with a Santa hat and a bold red lip! If you do feel like getting a little more creative— here are 13 outfit ideas for your SantaCon or holiday bar look, with varying levels of commitment to the whole Santa bit.

Santa, duh

Alright, I think I’m obligated to start this list with a Santa costume. This is for my besties who want to go all out (as you should!). You can absolutely rock a fitted jumpsuit. This Santa Babe Catsuit Costume ($40, Party City) is off the shoulder, which is — first of all — so on trend, and second, will give you a nice stylish touch! This is also a great option if you live in a colder climate — you could add tights underneath for extra warmth if you need it. Pair this with some tall black boots and your Santa hat and you’ll be looking as delicious as a Christmas cookie!

Convertible red top

This Elvie Corset ($98, Free People) can be worn many ways. It’s a classic red corset that doesn’t scream Santa, so you can wear it more than once and during other seasons. You can wear the sleeves, go with just the corset, or wear the sleeves as a scarf for a look that’s giving Project Runway — just drape one half in front and toss the other half behind your back.

Go Green

Around the holidays, some people forget green accompanies red. It’s just as festive and slightly more unique, so your friends may actually be able to find you in the sea of red Santa ‘fits. This Out From Under Libby Sheer Lace Long Sleeve Top ($29, Urban Outfitters) is giving Grinch. Wear it with a bralette or layer it under a cheesy Christmas T-shirt. If you live somewhere warm in December (or are simply braver than I am), this UO Tied Up Crop Top ($39, Urban Outfitters) is adorable, and the bow makes you look like the prettiest present!

Red Leather Corset

Everyone knows and loves a good corset. The good news is, you can find one for what feels like every occasion, the holidays included. Grab this Jessica PU Bustier ($42, Princess Polly) and pair it with leather pants or dark jeans for a sexy holiday look that doesn’t require too much effort on your part.

Silver & Gold

Instead of red and green, wear silver and gold! These Curve Love Vegan Leather 90s Relaxed Pant ($66, Abercrombie) are adorable and totally in right now! Pair them with a black top from your closet or any of the red and green tops I’m suggesting here. These can go from the bar one weekend to your family’s Christmas party the next!

Leather Head-To-Toe

This outfit is for my fashion-forward cool girls. If the bright red and Santa hats aren’t your vibe, try rocking a wine-colored coat like this Goldsmith Faux Leather Bomber Jacket ($105, Princess Polly) and some matching faux leather pants ($32, Target). Add a fitted black long-sleeve top, and you’ll be ready to face the cold weather — and look cool doing it. You can always wear just the pants or jacket if you aren’t as committed to the whole look.

Etsy Holiday Sweatshirt

If you don’t want to wear head-to-toe leather this year, I totally get it. It’s a lot to commit to, and maybe just not your vibe! If your local bar is more casual (and you live somewhere cold), Etsy always has the cutest holiday sweatshirts. Just make sure you’re ordering in time to get it for your outing. I have this Grinch one, and if you’re impersonating the Grinch all month long like me, you’ll love it. This one with simple embroidered Christmas trees ($27, Etsy) is a little more subtle if you aren’t into Christmas characters. If you don’t have time to order from Etsy, visit your local thrift store. Goodwill always has a bunch of holiday sweater and sweatshirt options at a great price point.

Mistletoe Headband

If you’re single and ready to truly mingle this holiday season, sport a mistletoe headband ($10, Amazon)! It’s a super easy way to make anything in your closet festive if you don’t want to go out and spend a lot of money. And if you’re looking to meet new people when you go out, this is a surefire way to start some convos. Maybe you’ll even get a kiss under your mistletoe!

A sparkly Boot

A quick way to add interest to any of your holiday outfits is with a fun boot. Add some sparkle to your fit with these MUCCCUTE Rhinestone Ankle Boots ($66, Amazon). If you’re wearing all black with these boots, add silver jewelry to draw attention to the shoes! You could even add a similar bag ($40, Steve Madden) and let your accessories do all the work for your outfit.

Classic Mean Girls

Maybe the Santa catsuit isn’t your thing. If you still want to channel strong Christmas vibes, go with the Mean Girls Santa dress ($50, Amazon). It’s adorable and, honestly, a classic at this point (and what better way to celebrate the movie musical’s upcoming release). Rock it on its own, or to warm it up, add tights and tall black boots. Throw on a leather jacket or cropped black puffer for extra warmth. (I personally would go leather since it’s much easier to clean post-bar-spill!) Channel your inner Rachel McAdams and Reneé Rapp for this one!

A mini Skirt

Mini skirts ($50, Abercrombie) are back, people! Go with black, wine, or silver leather for this one. Add a sexy bodysuit ($18, Amazon) in really any color and you’re good to go. Booties or sneakers would go with this depending on what you’re most comfortable with. Add lined or opaque tights for extra warmth, or sheer tights for a more wintery look. I would wear a black leather mini with this Low-Back Seamless Longsleeve ($48, Free People), black tights, tall black boots, and slick my hair into a ponytail. Then, I’d add some small chunky hoops ($15, Madewell) and a dainty drop necklace!

Long Red Gloves

Here me out — if you love to make a statement and wear fun pieces, this is for you. A pair of over-the-elbow red gloves ($10, Amazon) is a total statement — one I wouldn’t say you could normally wear to your average college party. But given the occasion, now is the time! Pair this with the leather corset from No. 4 above, and you’re going to be one sexy Santa.

An ‘eff me’ sweater

Last, and most certainly not least, we have the “Eff Me” sweater, and yes I mean “F*ck me” sweater, coined by Eli Rallo. Nothing says happy holidays like a sexy sweater, and this is the perfect time to buy a new one. Essential to the “Eff Me” sweater is CONFIDENCE. The best part of Eli’s “Eff Me” sweater is that it’s different for everyone — what’s most important is that it’s a sweater you feel confident and amazing in. For me, a fitted sweater with a keyhole cutout ($39, White House Black Market) is the ultimate “Eff Me” sweater. Maybe it will work for you, too!
