Travis Kelce Had A Good Reason For Not Attending Taylor Swift’s NYC Birthday Party

Dec. 13 deserves to be a national holiday as it marks none other than Taylor Swift’s birthday! To ring in turning 34, the superstar celebrated with a star-studded birthday bash in NYC. Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, and many more attended the party. However, fans were quick to notice that Swift’s new boo Travis Kelce, certified golden retriever and tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, seemed to be missing from the gathering. It’s not like he had a football game, so where was he?

If you haven’t been keeping up with the NFL’s schedule, the Chiefs are playing their longtime rivals, the New England Patriots, on Dec. 17. This upcoming game will mark the first time these two teams are playing each other in almost three years, so it’s a pretty big deal! According to sources, Kelce needed to attend a mandatory football practice in his hometown of Kansas City, MO to prepare for the game — so he ended up missing Swift’s birthday party (sad face).

However, the pair still found time to celebrate ahead of Swift’s actual birthday. On Dec. 10, Swift  cheered on her man during the Chiefs vs. Bills game! After the game, Swift and Kelce went to  a holiday-themed bar in Kansas City with his mother, Donna Kelce, as well as Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. According to TMZ, they all headed home around 2 a.m., long after other guests had left.

Many fans hope to see Swift and Kelce spend the holidays together in Kansas City, but until then, the singer is living her best life with her famous friends. Pictures from Swift’s birthday party are still coming in. On Dec. 14, she shared a series of photos from her party on Instagram, and TBH, it looked like so much fun. I spy Miles and Keleigh Teller, Gigi Hadid, the HAIM sisters, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, and of course Swift’s longtime bestie Selena Gomez!

Of course, Swift’s loyal fans wanted to help her celebrate her birthday and she gave them the perfect way to do just that from the comfort of their own homes. Starting Dec. 13, the superstar made her Eras tour concert film available to rent on demand, and fans held their own watch parties!

Even if they couldn’t celebrate together, it’s clear that both Swift and Kelce had the time of their lives doing what they love on Dec. 13. Here’s hoping we’ll get more Tayvis content at the upcoming Chiefs vs. Patriots game!
