Sabrina Carpenter sleighed during the 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour. This year, she turned her pop hit “Nonsense” into a Christmas classic with “A Nonsense Christmas,” and throughout the month of December, she joined four Jingle Ball tour dates as Sabrina Claus, doing some iconic holiday-themed outros for the hit song. It’s the first track off her new Christmas EP, fruitcake. She made the “Nonsense” outros popular on her “Emails I Can’t Send Tour,” continuing them on the road with Taylor Swift as they became beloved by fans. The holiday fruitcake EP, which dropped on Nov. 17, is filled with nonsense and whimsy. It was made for Christmas, but will surely be played by fans year-round. Like the singer said, you’ve never seen her and Santa Claus in the same room. I mean, they both have the same initials and give great gifts, and fruitcake is the best gift of all.
During her Jingle Ball performances, Carpenter stopped performing the original “Nonsense” track and made things more festive by performing the Christmas version, as seen in this TikTok posted by a fan. She performed new songs from fruitcake at the shows, too, including “santa doesn’t know you like i do” and “is it new years yet?” She also performed her hit songs “Feather” and “because i liked a boy.” She did four Jingle Ball performances on the tour, with each “A Nonsense Christmas” outro more unhinged than the last.
