Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are my personal Super Bowl, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ win on Jan. 28 means that they’re heading to the actual Super Bowl this year! The Chiefs secured their spot in the AFC Championship with a 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Swift rushed the field and shared an adorable congratulatory kiss with Kelce that seriously deserves a spot in the Romance Hall of Fame. But will Swift be able to storm the field again at the Super Bowl this year? Probably — there’s just one minor detail that leaves her attendance up in the air.
Super Bowl LVIII will take place at 6:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas. Swift’s playing the final Tokyo show of her Eras Tour the night of Feb. 10. Like I said, minor detail. Will she be able to fly halfway across the world in time to watch her boyfriend play the final game of the NFL season?
Thanks to the 17-hour time difference and Swift’s private jet, she’ll be able to get back to the States with plenty of time to spare. No openers have been announced for the Tokyo shows, so if Swift begins her concert at exactly 6 p.m. local time on Feb. 10, The Athletic reports that she’d make it to Vegas by 4 p.m. EST on… Feb. 10. That’s a whole day before the game, giving Swift plenty of time to secure her spot in the stands (AKA private box, but who’s counting?).
However, there might not be space at the Vegas airport for Swift’s jet to park. If that’s the case, she’d probably fly into Los Angeles and drive the rest of the way. In this scenario, The Athletic predicts her Vegas ETA as 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. That’s still almost 24 hours before the Super Bowl. Given Swift’s near-perfect attendance at the Chiefs’ games this season, it’s safe to assume that a little jet lag won’t stop her from showing up for her boyfriend!
The 2024 Super Bowl would be the thirteenth Chiefs game Swift attends this season (she must have planned that, right?), but the first Super Bowl she’s attended ever. The NFL has reportedly attempted to recruit her as a halftime performer multiple times in the past, and Swift’s turned them down each time. Her relationship with Kelce has generated $330M for the NFL. Swift says she’s “just there to support Travis.” It’s a win-win, and it might turn into a triple-win if the Chiefs pull through on Feb. 11!
