Camila Cabello’s New Blonde Hair Is A *Huge* Hint For Fans

Who said the Barbie craze was over? Camila Cabello posted a video of herself on Instagram showing off bleached blonde hair complete with bangs on Feb. 1, and fans are losing their minds. As a Hannah Montana stan, my childhood heart is loving this new look on her. But, this post wasn’t just to debut her hot new hairstyle. With a snippet of what sounds like new music in the background, it’s clear that Cabello is teasing an upcoming album release. Everyone, remain calm.

Cabello’s last album, Familia was released back in April 2022, which feels like forever ago. After nearly two years without Cabello dropping any singles as a lead artist, fans will accept any album update breadcrumbs they can get from the singer. Now, I’m no detective, but the fact that she captioned the video with, “It’s time <:)” solidifies my theory that her new album is coming soon. Just before her blonde post broke the Internet, Cabello had posted pictures of herself in a recording studio with the caption, “Is it butterflies or acid reflux?” Whether she’s nervous about releasing new music or the caption alludes to lyrics from a new song, it’s proof that something big is coming from Cabello. And fast.

Fans and celebrities are showing up online to support Cabello’s new look and potential new album. Olivia Rodrigo commented, “YESSSS.” Lil Nas X wrote, “Let’s gooooo.” Even Dinah Jane hyped Camila up, writing, “Wowwww blondes have more funnn,” and it made me wish for a Fifth Harmony reunion (is it too soon?).

X (aka Twitter) users are freaking out. Fan account @hav5na, which has over 45,000 followers, wrote, “CAMILA CABELLO THE WOMAN YOU ARE.” User @zinebcab wrote, “I’m sorry for the person I’ll become when the title and teaser of Camila Cabello’s lead single will be revealed.” It’s safe to say people are excited.

As a fan since her Fifth Harmony days, I’m ready for some new Camila Cabello music. She is literally a radio hit queen, and is incapable of making a song that isn’t catchy. Until she gives us more info, I’ll be listening to “Havana” on repeat like it’s 2017 again.
