Here’s a guide to a basic day in College Station, when I have the day off from classes, obviously.

I am kind of addicted to coffee so I may or may not need a latte every day.  One of my favorite places in town is Polite, their coffee shots are pulled to perfection.  They also have amazing syrups that they make in store and other drinks beside coffee.  But I always get a hot latte.  Unless it’s blazing hot outside, then it’s an iced latte day.

But be forewarned, it can get obnoxiously busy.  I read a book when I’m in line.

Walking Downtown Bryan

Polite’s parking lot always gets filled so I suggest, if you can’t find parking there, you can always park in downtown Bryan and walk over.  It’s less than 4 minutes away!  It’s also the perfect opportunity to check out downtown Bryan and enjoy the weather; it’s quite a nice stroll.  Some of the shops are closed on Sundays though so it might be better to save it for a Saturday adventure.

Zietman’s Grocery Store: https://www.zeitmans.com/

Their bagels and cream cheese are to die for.  Or you can order a sandwich, which comes with a bag of chips.  The vibe of the shop is nice and they have a “give a book, take a book” library!  But be wary, it can get super busy.

The Annex

Next stop of the day is the Annex, where it’s time to actually be productive.  It’s on campus, right next to Evans library.  But it’s a little homier than Evans.  Just make sure you reserve your study room or you might get kicked out.  And while in your study room, it’s time to do all that homework you saved for the last minute.

After you enjoy the day out of your home, it’s time to mosey your way on back.  When home, I advise you put on a comfort show and cook a warm meal.

Howdy! I’m Gabriela Gomez, an avid reader who is interested in all areas of publishing and writing. And reading of course! I’m the Editor-in-Chief; I currently oversee all the publishing of articles for the Her Campus at TAMU chapter. I am overjoyed to read all the members’ articles and make any corrections that will help to elevate the article. I have been with Her Campus at TAMU since my freshman year. The first year I was a general member on the Writing and Editing committee. During that first year, I wrote a total of 23 articles and was always finding new ways to help. For my second year, I worked as the Senior Editor, publishing more than 80 articles and writing 38 articles. Now in my second semester of junior year, I have implemented a new pitch process for better organization and cleanest, I have already published more than 170 articles, and I have written 16 articles and will continue writing more! Besides working as the Editor-in-Chief, I am a dedicated student at Texas A&M studying Biomedical Sciences. I am also obtaining a minor in both English and Spanish. While not studying diligently, I work in a research lab grinding away, trying to get my name on some research papers (fingers crossed). In my free time, I read, obviously. I am also on the hunt for the best latte to ever bless this earth and love a good game of chess!
