After a long deliberation process, the Pantone Color Institute announced the Color of the Year for 2024 is Peach Fuzz (Pantone 13-1023), a color that radiates compassion and warmth. So, how was this vibrant decision reached?

It’s no question that Pantone is a leading figure in the world of color. Founded in the 1950s, Pantone’s mission was to change the ways of the commercial printing industry. The introduction of the Pantone Color Matching System in 1963 allowed printers to match colors efficiently and accurately, allowing them more consistency in their works. A little over 20 years later, the Pantone Color Institute was established, providing trend forecasting and color consulting to designers looking to grow their brands. It wasn’t until 1999 that they selected their first “Color of the Year,” Cerulean (Pantone 15-4020), setting the tone for the year 2000 and highlighting the relationship between culture and color.

Want to get in on the trend and adopt the peach aesthetic? Here are four ways you can embrace Pantone’s Color of the Year and add it to your lifestyle!

*Note: Some of the recommendations below aren’t exact replications of Peach Fuzz (Pantone 13-1023) but are close enough!

Whether you’re interested in full coverage or just a few streaks, adding a pop of peach to your ‘do is a great way to start the new year! If dyeing your hair is a little too extreme, wearing a cute hair clip allows you to rock the color in a more temporary fashion.
  • Makeup & Nails: From eye shadow to blush and everything in between, ColourPop is a great one-stop shop for all your peach-colored cosmetic needs. A hint of lip gloss in this shade will give you the perfect pout and flatters neutral and cooler skin tones, too. Need a fresh look for your fingers and toes? Whether it’s hoodies, coats or vests, Columbia’s peach-colored winter wear is bound to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Top it off with a beanie from Love Your Melon, and you’re ready for any snowy weather that Boulder throws your way!
  • Shoes: Referred to by many as a “Boulder fashion staple,” Doc Martens is best known for their chunky leather boots. It’s no surprise that, once established as a fashion trend, Doc Martens felt it necessary to make their popular boots in bright new colors—including peach! Need a pair of shoes for the Rec Center or hiking trails? The North Face has you covered with comfortable sneakers fit for whatever fitness activity you’re engaged in!
  • Bags: Need help carrying your books and school supplies? JanSport’s SuperBreak Plus backpack has plenty of room for whatever a CU Boulder student could possibly need! It even comes equipped with a 15-inch laptop sleeve and side water bottle pocket.

BEDROOM

Regardless of whether you live in an apartment, dorm or some other arrangement, most of us can agree on one thing—redecorating your personal space is tons of fun! What better way to show your appreciation for Pantone’s Color of the Year than by covering your room in peach-colored products?

  • Infuse the room with a fruity aroma and the glow of a cozy candle.

DIET

I know, these suggestions may be a bit of a stretch, but I can’t be the only one obsessed with peach-flavored foods and beverages! If you’re embracing this beautiful color everywhere on the outside, why not on the inside, too?

  • Of course, baking your own fruit-filled delicacies is one of the most satisfying ways to get your peachy fix! The internet is filled with countless recipes for anything your heart desires, including yummy muffins, bars, cakes and cobblers!

Whether you’re wearing it, decorating with it or consuming it, Peach Fuzz (Pantone 13-1023) is bound to leave you feeling bright and colorful all throughout 2024!
