Weâre not even that far into 2024 and itâs already shaping up to be the year of Ariana Grande. The singer is taking the world by storm with her comeback single, âyes, and?â, marking this her first solo release in over three years.Â
The bold, EDM-inspired track earned Grande her eighth #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It precedes her highly anticipated seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, which will come out on Mar. 8. With so much excitement surrounding the release of Eternal Sunshine, fans are eager to know if the singerâs taking this album on tour.
In an interview with Zach Sang on Feb. 26, Grande revealed that she’s unsure if she’ll do a tour for this upcoming project. Though she said she misses being on stage and her fans “so much,” she noted that she had a “hard time emotionally” on the Sweetener World Tour. Because of this, Ari wants to redefine her relationship with tours when she’s ready.
She also shared that she has “a very busy year” with Wicked, so itâs not looking like Grandeâs gearing up for a summer 2024 tour. But if youâre like me and Grandeâs return has been one of the only things getting you through these last few weeks, itâs never too early to get ready! Die-hard Arianators have been preparing themselves (and their bank accounts) for another brutal Ticketmaster battle if Grande were to announce a tour.Â
On Jan. 28, however, a few eagle-eyed fans noticed something a little suspicious in the source code of Grandeâs official website. Could this mean that atour announcement is closer than we think?Â
Thereâs a huge possibility that Grandeâs next tour wonât just be the Eternal Sunshine tour. Some Arianators think the âNo Tears Left To Cryâ artist might bring back hits and fan favorites from her first six studio albums. Many are hoping that Grande will embark on her own version of Taylor Swiftâs blockbuster Eras tour. Since the set pieces in the âyes, and?â music video contained references to her first six albums, this theory seems super plausible.Â
So far, Grandeâs revealed two out of Eternal Sunshineâs four unique covers. Plus, sheâs shared a behind-the-scenes clip in which she described the project as a âconcept album,â with âheightened pieces of the same storyâ being put together. Letâs not forget that the singer also dropped a âyes, and?â remix featuring the legendary Mariah Carey on Feb. 16.Â
Though everyone’s hoping for Grande to go on tour again, it’s not looking like this will happen anytime soon. During her interview with Zach Sang, Grande shared that if she were to go on tour, it would be “shorter” than previous ones due to her busy schedule. Although she said she has the “itch” to perform for her fans again, Ari’s not ready to announce anything just yet as she doesn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up.
I, for one, couldnât be happier that Grande is feeding us again after a well-deserved break. Iâm not emotionally prepared for the serve that Eternal Sunshine will inevitably be – let alone hearing the album live in concert!Â
