Most of our addictions to lip balm start earlier on in life, in our early tweens or teens, starting with cheap $2 lip balm now to $30 lip balm. Chapped lips are more than the feeling of dry skin, it’s so much more than below the surface. But we shy away from what actually works for people with dry skin. What lip balms are good for you, your lips and your wallet? Nowadays we spend excessive amounts of money on lip balms and we aren’t even sure they work. So let’s talk about the top seven lip balms of 2024 for dry lips that I think are pretty affordable.

No. 1 is Aquaphor Lip Repair; it’s number 1 for a reason. This is a classic, it is cheap and works like a charm. It’s easily accessible, and you can find it anywhere.

No. 2 is Vaseline, it’s a pretty good option if you’re looking for a cheap lip balm that is thick and nourishing. It also works for other purposes like cuticles and dry skin so that’s a plus.

No. 3 is Lanolips. This one is pretty good, but it’s a bit pricier compared to the other ones, but super nourishing.

Next up at No. 4, Feret’s Le Balm. I’ve never personally tried this, but it looks promising because it’s more of a balm. There are extra points for doubling as a cuticle balm as well.

No. 5 is the Handlei Sugar Lip Scrub. This is a lip oil that is rich in vitamins A, C and E. It is also Leaping Bunny Certified (cruelty-free), which is always a plus.

Up next coming in strong as No. 6 is Supergoops SPF 30 Lip Balm. This one is great, it is on the pricier side compared to others, but it has SPF and contains shea butter, acai and sunflower oil. This balm moisturizes your lips while protecting your lips from UV Rays which is great, I’d say it’s worth the money.

Lastly, for the girls who want a bit more of a tinted lip balm, the Tower28 JuiceBalm is a stick balm with a buildable color and contains a ton of nourishing ingredients like shay butter and marula oil.

Not every lip balm works for everyone, and I feel like no one talks about the people who have super dry lips and are looking for more nourishing options that won’t break the bank. Not every “popular” lip product is really worth breaking the bank if it isn’t nourishing your lips as it’s supposed to. So give these a try! I hope this provides you with some good, pretty affordable options.
