Is Nikocado Avocado Really Two Steps Ahead?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

“I am always two steps ahead,” claims Nikocado Avocado. But is he really always ahead of everyone else?

Nikocado Avocado, better known as Niko Avocado, is an influencer who is most famous for his mukbang videos on YouTube and for having guests help him finish thousands of calories in one meal. Some of his most famous videos include him eating noodles, fast food, and 10,000-calorie meals. Oftentimes, Avocado would be accompanied by another influencer or his boyfriend.

One of his most recent videos, a spicy cheese fire noodle mukbang, was published seven months ago on YouTube. After that, he stopped posting for months on social media. Viewers and fans began to make fun of Avocado’s appearance by calling him “fat,” “obese,” and “irrelevant” during his social media break.

Three weeks ago, a video on the Nikocado Avocado channel was posted titled “Two Steps Ahead” where he claimed he was ahead of society. Based on his appearance in the video, it looked like he had lost an immense amount of weight when compared to his last video published seven months ago.

In his latest YouTube video, he explained that he had lost 250 pounds while people were making fun of him during his time off social media. Even with all of the hate comments he received about his body image, he was able to stay “two steps ahead” of the rest of society.

People began to question whether his weight loss journey was even real or possible considering how much he weighed before and the amount of food he would eat during one of his videos. Conspiracy theories about whether he is even a real person or the same person in his videos began to emerge. Some people also believe that the newer videos he is publishing on TikTok were pre-recorded before his weight gain.

To prove his following wrong, he has been creating videos of himself doing trends that are currently happening that did not exist years or even months ago. Even though he is showing proof that this is what he currently looks like, there are still questions about where all of the excess skin went from losing 250 pounds.

Niko Avocado’s transformation is very controversial when looking at the legitimacy of his weight loss journey. From eating 10,000 calorie mukbang videos and gaining tons of weight to losing 250 pounds and appearing to be in shape in only a few months is very hard to believe for most people. But, in his video, he claims to have lost all the weight.

Avocado believes this is the “greatest social experiment of his life.” Do you think he really is two steps ahead?
