Theories For Season 3 of “Tell Me Lies”

I stumbled upon this show quite some time ago before it started flooding my TikTok for you page, and if you’re anything like me and have seen this show, I was shaken to my core. I couldn’t fathom the way these characters were portrayed and how every scene was a plot twist. With that being said, now that season two has come to an end, and in my opinion, was even better than season one, there’s quite the collection of theories brewing on the internet. Heads up: there may be spoilers, so before you read please, GO WATCH IT. You won’t regret it. It’s quite literally the most sick and twisted show I have ever seen.

Theory 1: mystery caller

People are dying to know who Bree was on the phone with on her wedding day. I am people. Meghan Oppenheimer, the show’s creator, has explicitly said Stephen nor Oliver is the mystery caller, so who is it? The idea that it was Stephen was batted down after many suggested that Stephen and Bree knew each other growing up and that the best Thanksgiving she ever had was probably with him. Even though many feel it’s someone new, so many feel like it’s Wrigley or her foster sister. Her foster sister would be a new character introduced, so it’s very possible. 

theory 2: Diana

After Diana’s top-tier ending in season two, many are thinking she will go on to become a lawyer and get her revenge on everyone who had hurt the people who should’ve never been wronged. Number one, she knows Stephen was involved in Macey’s death, and after the way he thinks he manipulates, disrespects, and uses her for her money, she just might have payback in store for him. Because she and Pippa are now partners and Diana knows Lydia’s younger brother assaulted Pippa, she might just do what Pippa never could and bring her justice. This case could also be how Stephen and Lydia end up together, since we still have no idea how that unfolds. Stephen may become a lawyer himself and take the opposite side of the case, especially in spite of Lucy for what she did with Evan.

theory 3: The Wedding

We never actually know if the wedding happens. Many people think that the wedding never happens. This is because they continue to show footage surrounding the wedding but never Bree and Evan getting married. Regardless, Stephen saving that message for 8 years and then sending that message was diabolical, which leads me to my point that some believe Bree already knows, or that even if she doesn’t know, she might still marry Evan for the money. 

theory 4: What’s the real deal with leo?

There’s a theory I saw that said Leo and Stephen may be brothers due to the rose tattoo. When Stephen’s dad left, Leo may be a part of his new family. To make it more crazy, I heard one state that they feel like Leo might be related to Macey somehow. 

theory 5: Wrigley

What is going to happen to Wrigley? He still cares for Pippa deeply, and we can see he is on drugs, and that whenever he thinks of Drew, he self-destructs. Is his character going to die off, or is he going to get some sort of good to happen for him? He deserved none of what happened to him. 

There you have it. These are the most common theories I have heard surrounding this show, and I can’t believe we have to wait two years to know what happens. This show literally keeps you on your toes and makes your jaw drop every other second. I NEED to know. If you haven’t watched it yet, this is your sign to do so!
