5 Activities To Get You Out of the End of Semester Boredom

Homework is piling up, you may be running out of your summer job money, and you’re probably thinking you need a break from this constant loop. While we’re lacking motivation to finish our assignments and study sessions on time, here are five ideas to get your mind away from the slump (even if it’s just for a little while):

take a nature walk

Whether you’re a morning or night person, sometimes taking a “hot girl” walk alone (or with friends!) can help clear your head. Listening to your favorite tunes and watching the sunset or sunrise can be a creative way to start or end your day. Plus, taking a stroll is completely free and won’t add a temporary dent to your wallet!

Try a new restaurant

Is there a restaurant you’ve heard many people raving about? Here’s your chance to try something new and fresh before your winter break. Trying something exotic that you’ve never eaten before can open the horizons for a new favorite eatery in the semester ahead – especially if you’re a violent picky eater.

Attend a market show

Markets are the best places to visit and there’s always something interactive to do. There’s live music, generational food, handcrafted designs, art, and more. Also, these shows are the perfect place to get last-minute Christmas gifts for your family, friends, and significant others.

Go see a movie

This is a no brainer. With the Christmas season vastly approaching, there are many movies coming out in the upcoming weeks. From Wicked to Sonic The Hedgehog, you can view a movie in any genre. Bonus: if the theater offers student discounts on tickets or concessions!

Take a fitness class

Do you have fitness classes at your university or have been eager to try trending pilates? Some studios outside of campus may even allow you to take your first class for free. Better yet, most are only 30 minutes to an hour long, which won’t impact your study time. Potentially meeting new people while also trying a new workout could be a new change of scenery and get you on track for the semester ahead.

For whichever break path you choose, your brain will thank you for giving it a break from those long hours of studying. Remember: it’s okay to take a step back once in a while after being an academic weapon to help smooth your transition to the end of the semester!
