The Best Coffee Shops in Bloomington for Students

Updated Published
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.
  1. Soma Coffee House (4.4⛤)
Open before and after most students’ classes, Soma is a favorite for students who may want to engage in campus life while staying productive. Its 3 Bloomington locations offer warm and comfortable environments along with a range of menu items from coffee, tea, and pastries to juice and smoothies.
  2. Hopscotch Coffee (4.6⛤)
A very popular study area amplified by its amazing food and drinks, Hopscotch Coffee has it all. Known for its locally roasted coffee, cozy seating, and chill atmosphere, Hopscotch provides the ideal blend of productivity and comfort. The coffee shop’s relatively late closing times make it a great place to go after class!
  3. Inkwell (4.5⛤)
With one on-campus and one downtown location, Inkwell provides dual environment options for students looking to unwind with friends in between classes as well as those trying to lock in for exams. Its ambient lighting, ample seating, and high speed wifi make it easy to stay focused on coursework.
  4. Coffee Beanery (5.0⛤)
Coffee Beanery is brand new and therefore undiscovered, making it the perfect place to get a productive study session in. It’s off to an amazing start with a 5.0 rating and reviews complimenting the welcoming staff and delicious food!
  5. Runcible Spoon (4.4⛤)
Its rustic, homey feel makes Runcible Spoon different from a lot of the other locations nearby. It is slightly more expensive than the others on a per person basis because it offers a full breakfast menu rather than just bakery items, but Runcible Spoon still has some of the best coffee in Bloomington!
