Unless you live under a rock, you may or may not have seen the 82nd Golden Globes in the Beverly Hilton Hotel streamed both on film and television. If you do happen to live under a rock, that’s okay – I’m here to recap them for you.

This year’s Golden Globes was definitely one to remember; starting off with our amazing host, Nikki Glaser! Which is a huge improvement from last year’s host. Glaser is an actress, television host and stand-up comedian. You may know her from the comedy show called ‘Roast.’ She is also the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo! At this year’s awards night, she lightheartedly called out some celebrities, like saying the Golden Globes are “Ozempic’s biggest night” in her opening monologue. She also took time to make fun of Timothee Chalamet and “the most gorgeous eyelashes on his upper lip” and Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s iconic finger hold.

Many people who watched the award show absolutely loved her, all over social media people have said things like “best host in like
forever”

Moving on to a few iconic moments on the red carpet
Did you notice the absolute ROCK on Zendaya’s finger?! Now that’s something to hold space for. As an OG Tomdaya shipper, I was stunned when I saw the news of her engagement all over social media. I just know so many designers are sprinting to Law Roach, Zendaya’s long-time stylist, to pitch their ideas for her wedding dress.

Though Zendaya’s ring shined as bright as a star, let’s talk about the real star of the red carpet, Cesily Collete Taylor. Taylor plays Baby Nessarose in the movie adaptation “Wicked.” Her character in “Wicked” is disabled and the casting crew did an amazing job by casting someone that is also disabled in real life. So many people all over the internet have talked about how big this is for representation.  Although she doesn’t have much screen time, she definitely stole everyone’s hearts! Her showstopping line in the movie “Yes,” made everyone go crazy all over the internet, and when she arrived on the red carpet everyone was in awe. She was styled in a white polka-dotted dress with puffy short sleeves, resembling a dress Judy Garland once wore.

We saw many couples under the stars that night, such as Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, Adam and Jackie Sandler and many more. Yes, they’re all amazing couples, but the ones that hold the most love and have the best bromance are Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan! The two have been inseparable since they co-starred in Marvel movies together and share a special bond by hating on Tom Holland once in a while, but that’s a story for another day.

Finally, what all these A-list celebrities are here for: the awards, movies and TV stars alike.

Some awards that blew me away were Sebastian Stan for Best Leading Performance in ‘A Different Man,’ ‘Wicked’ for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, Ted Danson for the honorary Carol Burnett Award, ‘Challengers’ for Original Score, Jessica Gunning in ‘Baby Reindeer’ for Actress in a Supporting Role on Television, and Demi Moore in ‘The Substance’ for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. All these movies and actors deserve it, but let’s talk about how the Golden Globes absolutely snubbed ‘Wicked’ for EVERY category, and I know I sound biased, but that’s because I am. And what do you mean that this is Demi Moore’s first ever award in all of her career?

This award season is going to be eventful, but many celebrities have protested to put a pause on this year’s season due to the tragic fires that have taken over LA this past week. They argue the attention should not be on the award shows but to the people who have lost their homes, schools, pets and loved ones. I’m sending love and praying for those who have been affected by the fires and hopefully they’ll consider holding off on award season until this all passes, until then I can’t wait to see what other stunning looks and drama this season will bring!
